At halftime of Thursday’s Dallas-Washington football game, Dolly Parton made a pitch for the Salvation Army but didn’t show up just to ring the kettle bell. In a flash, Dolly appeared all tricked out as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, and as the crowd confirmed, the minimalist style suited the 77-year-old quite well. Parton first busted out “Jolene,” but she hadn’t forgot the working folks.
As Dolly lit into “Nine to Five,” the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders pranced onto the field showcasing the athletic moves that had made them famous. Bob Fosse, call your office. Busby Berkeley, phone home. And as Popeye might say, “what did I do with my spinach?” The cheering crowd joined in on “We Are the Champions,” followed by “We Will Rock You.” Viewers could easily get the feeling that this was about more than a football game.

It’s kind of gratifying to us old ladies that Dolly is about 77 years old...:-)
As impressive a performance as we see every time out with another 77 year old.
Living proof that modern science is focused like a laser on prolonging erections and eliminating hair loss.
I think Spirit is what keeps Dolly going so strong.
I have a “list” of people I’d love to have a cup of coffee with. Dolly has been forever No.1 on that list.
I actually watched the half time show .... no rappers or female screechers, dressed like skanks (or worse). It was refreshing to see someone do a decent performance (carry a tune, could understand the words, etc.). For 77, Dolly is doing well.
I have to admit, pretty impressive for a 77 year old.
I bet Dolly’s morning conversation is better...
I would certainly prefer to see Dolly Parton (even at age 77) in a half-time show than I would most of the current Hollywood performers. She can still belt out a song and she has a wonderful stage presence in that she makes the audience feel like she could be their best friend.

Probably because they’ve chisled her legs and butt. Surprised they hold her up.
100% better than the rap crap I saw at another game.
How did we ever survive before halftime shows? I get it for the Super Bowl, but this is ridiculous.
Personally I thought it was meh…but she sends my grandson a free book every month and I really admire her for that.
Her take on “We Are The Champions” was surprising, and pretty damn good.
Dolly is truly an American treasure. Her philanthropy is literacy among poor children. Her foundation has given away something like 50 million books to school children. I hope she lives forever.
Just because it’s Thanksgiving?
