Sierra Vista, AZ - On Friday, at least one pit bull critically injured a 53-year old man and killed an 84-year old woman and her small dog. The Sierra Vista Police Department (SVPD) responded to the 600 block of Calle Del Norte around 6:00 pm after reports of a dog attack in the alley between Del Norte and Meadowlark. When officers arrived, they found a dog attacking Sam Sanches Jr., 53, in the backyard of his home. Officers shot and killed that dog to render aid to Sanches.
Officers then found Helene Jackson, 84, mortally wounded in the alley behind the home, "as a second dog returned to the same yard where the first attack occurred," states the release. Officers shot and killed the second dog too.
Jackson was taken to Canyon Vista Medical Center, where she died of her injuries Friday night. Jackson's own dog was found dead in the alley near where she was located. The three dog carcasses were transported to Sierra Vista Animal Control. . ." . .

I have a Shepard/Pit Bull Mix less than 10 feet away. My Wife and I rescued him from the Pound at 7 years old(5 years ago).
I have never had to question his loyalty or temperament as his former owners massively abused him. Chief gets along with my other 2 dogs as he is the biggest.
When I leave my Wife and Sister-In-Law in the home alone I have nothing to worry about as you better have a pizza or subpoena when you come knocking or you are going a nice up and personal look at Chief’s teeth.

You should read your homeowners insurance policy, which most likely excludes coverage for pit bull bites based upon actuarial science.
