Okay, so I want to leave NYC; my friend moved there a year and a half ago, and I went to visit him last summer. The place is gorgeous, and the city proper was beautiful.
I was thinking of applying to state government jobs (sue me), as they might be easier to get into versus looking at Indeed, where lots of things want an associate's degree. I want to get out of the security industry and go back into an office, which is where I'm comfortable. I'm not asking for a job or apartment on here, but I'm just looking for your average administrative work. Basic, standard stuff.
LA = Lower Alabama?
I moved to Georgia 5 years ago when I retired to get away from the East Coast attitudes.... rude, useless angry leftist people that dominate both coast and tax the living shit out of you.
I’d never move to any city period, cities suck.
SC isn’t leftist, but there are a troubling number of NeoCons here. The Upstate region is more conservative, with a number of counties voting against Linda in the primaries.
Where are you getting that idea? It’s a steady job and the area is beautiful. And litigious, LOL. I can’t say my real opinions on “law” and those that make it up, including “judges.”
Im pulling your leg
Son lives in Summerville - by Charleston and quaint small town feel.
I stopped reading right there.
Yeah, well, via the Atlantic and Panama Canal/Cape Horn...
Charleston is a beautiful area but expensive real estate comparatively. But next to NY, probably a deal. Lots of jobs across the state. Mt. Pleasant is a beautiful area of Charleston as well as areas like Beaufort.
Good luck in your search and journey.
You think downtown Atlanta is the whole state?
I have been self employed since 2015, software/hardware design and implementation.
Since did not indicate what you do for a living, I might be inclined to think you live on the streets. In that case, I would recommend moving to California. It gets cold and rains a lot here.
By your own description you have no marketable skills. Moving to Charleston is a fantasy you can’t afford. keep your job and work harder. Good luck.
I’m in the security industry, specifically a fire and life safety director. We’re responsible for the building and all occupants in case of an emergency. I want to get out of it and back in to an office where I’m comfortable.
I’ve spent the last 5 and a half years in the security industry, but I want to leave it and go back to office administration. I’d prefer South Carolina, but am open to other states in the south.
If you can pass a drug test and breathe ... you have your pick.
Not sure how long that will last but it's hot now.
Speak spanish ? more dinero
Have a trade skill ? $$
Actually work while at work ? high demand everywhere
If you can't pass a drug test and like to hide in the bathroom... as long as you show up “most” of the time ...you can still get paid.
BUT as I said in a previous post ...
ya got to submit your application, go through the process,
file the forms...... really a lot of hassle.
.... South Carolina has a beach you know And you sir MR.Nifster said "keep y'all away" I just think it's important that these folks from north of the line of demarcation understand the depth of the culture shock they may endure. Just learning to talk like you have a mouth full of butter can be a strain ... (think .. Yosemite Sam) forget all the rest. ..... just saying ...
Charleston is a nice place to visit. Personally, I would rather live near Savannah.
Went to The Citadel. Fell in love with a girl whose family were SOB’s. That is Charlestonian for South of Broad Street. Dug up a few cannonballs in her backyard from Ft. Sumter.
I’m more to the right than most people. I’m also not afraid of firearms and know the difference between a magazine and a clip.
Oh, and 9/11 was an inside job with no aircraft involved.
what do you do in security and what is your office administration experience?
Everybody thinks that New York City represents all of New York State.
Not me! I have seen some very pretty places in NY.
