Breaking: House GOP Leader Jim Durkin Resigning, Says Trump Republicans, 2nd Amendment and Pro-Life Issues “Dragged” GOP Down in Midterm Election

After more than 24 years in the Illinois legislature, House Republican Minority Leader Jim Durkin is resigning his seat. In November, the day after the election, Durkin announced that he was resigning as House Minority Leader.

During the midterm election, Durkin suffered embarrassing losses, giving House Democrats once again, supermajority control in the Illinois House.

In media interviews after announcing his resignation as House GOP leader, State Rep. Jim Durkin attempted to place all of the blame on the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump.

“As long as we continue to say that we are the party of Trump and that we have to abide by the party principles in the platform, 100% we’re gonna continue down this path of losing,” said Durkin.

But pointing fingers and blaming others is exactly why Illinois House Republicans are in the super minority – and Durkin has no one else to blame but himself. And blaming the former President does nothing but distract from his own leadership failures.

In announcing his resignation on Sunday, Durkin once again began pointing fingers, saying,

“I hope that at some point in the near future, and I think we’re getting there, that the party breaks its fever of Donald Trump and understands and learns from the past. Some people will never get there.”

But Durkin didn’t just stop there.

“not in the US House.”

That I know. But if he is complaining about Trump “ dragging down” the republicans obviously Mr. Durkin can point to his wild successes getting republicans elected across the country over his 24 years vs how many Trump got elected in the mid terms.

"As long as we continue to say that we are the party of Trump and that we have to abide by the party principles in the platform..."

Remember, the Democrat Lites don't just want you to abandon Trump. You are going to have abandon your principles too.

“So then what would the Republican Party stand for ? Slightly lower taxes ?”

There’s the right way, the wrong way, and the Republican way.

Yes, that’s just the wrong way, but we sing “God Bless America” while we do it.

"With suburban voters of all races no longer solidly red, and the white working class in demographic decline, there is alot of work to do in terms of evangelization."

I don't believe this is true. Democrat talking point in a nutshell.

Trump increased his vote total by over 16,000,000 votes. By far the largest vote total in the history of presidential elections. Biden actually won (a lie) the presidency by winning the fewest counties in history (smallest land mass). He also mainly won in democratic control areas and beat Obama (in his prime) by over 30% in almost all black communities.

If you honestly think a demented, brain addled, basement dwelling candidate that insulted blacks almost weekly was able to accomplish this without cheating, I don't know what to say.

From Wikipedia: Jim Durkin was raised in Westchester, Illinois, one of eight brothers. He attended Divine Infant grade school and Fenwick High School. He later attended Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal and graduated in 1984 with a degree in Criminal Justice.[1] He continued his education at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1989. He served as an assistant Illinois Attorney General and an assistant Cook County State's Attorney where he served as a felony prosecutor and a special prosecutor in the narcotics unit.[1] His brother, Thomas, is a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.[2] Durkin is on the board of trustees at the John Marshall Law School, and on the board of trustees for Misercordia Home in Chicago. Durkin lives in Western Springs, Illinois with his wife Celeste, daughter and three step-daughters.[1][3]

Notice all of his experience in the private sector, the things he built, the businesses he started and the jobs he created. Lifer government employees are steaming piles of excrement. They don’t contribute to society. They only make it more difficult for those that do. Check out McCarthy’s resume. Not a single job in the private sector. Why do people identify and vote for these pieces of schiff? Do they really think they have any idea what they are doing?

Illinois and New York should be split into two states each.

Chicago and New York city can be the new states. Sure, it would give us 2 additional democrat senators, but 2 new Republican senators as well.

The GOPe, are actually democrats that have run as republicans to get elected so that the democrats can say that they have “bipartisan support” for their agenda.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Could be wrong, but I’ll take a guess: His district is trending hard to port, and he wants to navigate himself towards continued public sector employment. If so his next announcement would be campaigning as a D for a State or County job.

It’s way past time. We don’t have a Republican party in IL.

There is only The Combine.
