A former data science manager at Twitter is planning to sue Elon Musk for firing her while six months pregnant. As Musk began slashing jobs last week, Shennan Lu was one of many workers who were laid off. She subsequently took to Twitter to blast the Elon Musk-led company’s handling of the situation.

I mis-spoke, and yet here's the reality: She's only protected if she was fired because she's pregnant.
She's the one with the burden of proof, to prove that claim true. Not Twitter/Musk.
Being part of a mass layoff very likely gives Twitter/Musk cover.
WARN act requires 60 day notice.
Musk is having them to continue to receive salary and benefits until Feb 7, three months from now. The wording of the notice is that their employment will cease on Feb 7. They just are no longer allowed access to Twitter facilities or computers.
If she's 6 months pregnant, she will be covered until her due date, and she has the right to buy coverage from Twitter under COBRA.

Yeah I heard about that screw up. Elon better watch his back, the elites are out to get him now, none of that free speech stuff is going to be allowed on any sizable platform. The ADL has already organized a boycott of advertisers that includes many major American corporations that says unless Musk buckles under to their demands they will cease to advertise there. The elites are demanding controlled speech, and if Musk doesn’t get onboard they will bankrupt twitter to get rid of him.

I think the majority of these people were so overemployed that they will never be able to come close to making these salaries again. And they know it, thus the anguish.
To the extent that Twitter had any genuine talent on staff amongst the professional censors and progressive scolds, they are no doubt still on the payroll.
So, the liberal is upset that she is being fired while having a clump of cells in her body that she may have removed in the next three months???
How hard a job was it to monitor Twitter for any tweets about a single topic, such as election fraud. and then take down anything pro conservative. Many of these highly paid Twitter jobs entailed just such censorship.

I didn’t know being knocked up was a defense to being laid off. Kind of discriminatory in that men can’t get knocked up...except perhaps in her Woke world of fantasy
She is legally protected from being fired for being pregnant. If her supervisor said, “we’re laying you off because you’re pregnant”, she has a case. If her whole department was laid off, she’s got nothing.
I spent almost 35 years for a Tier I manufacturer in the auto industry in Detroit. Probably 75% of all employees were faced with layoffs or potential layoffs during their tenures......
I’m sure Musk and the office building’s full of high-priced Manhattan lawyers he has at his beck and call are absolutely terrified...

UK requires a consultancy process, you are still going to get let go but we are going to have meetings about it beforehand. Also, we are going to pretend that the decision isn’t final when you are told about it.
