Glock 43: The Best Concealed Carry Gun In The World?
19FortyFive ^ | 9/18/2021 | Richard Douglas

This pistol is tiny. And of course, it was designed this way with concealed carry in mind. The Glock 43 is remarkably small and can fit in pockets (or a safe) nicely as well as ankle holsters and bags of all sorts. This pistol is the perfect size for really any kind of way you want to carry it, but it does have its limitations.

I’m guessing you already know Chrysler is now a Dutch/Italian/French company (Stellantis) and was previously an Italian (Fiat) and German (Daimler) company.

Diverting from the thread subject, but an interesting list:

Also my wife drives an 06 Mustang and I have a 71 cutlass supreme in my garage with less than 7000 original miles that won’t die if an EMP hits

I carry, I carry a little, I mean tiny 9mm Keltec. It is less than an inch wide and has a belt clip that allows me to carry in the top of my trousers, with my shirt tail pulled up slightly you can’t tell I have it. Double action only, no safety required that way. Seven rounds in the mag and one in the chamber. This is the same model that Travon Martin was dispatched with using only one round.

Because it is so small I can carry all the time. If you carry you should carry all the time.

If 8 rounds won’t do it you need to be getting more practice or carry another magazine with you.

I have some larger pistols, both 38 and 9mm. I like my S&W it’s smooth and pretty but larger than the little Keltec. Carry comfort is important to me so the little Keltec is on me all the time.

What he said...

I do not like the "striker fire" trigger; almost ALL "accidental discharges" you read about in the news are striker fired Glocks.

I kinda like the higher calibers too, (.45) but that's probably just me.....

And yet most of us are not police. A majority of defensive shootings use three rounds or less.

Wow! I am seriously jealous of the Cutlass! No way I could have kept that under 7000 miles.

In an EMP scenario, I think I would still keep the Cutlass in the garage. The risk of driving it through Mad Max Land would be a tragedy in and of itself.

On a related note, if people really understood how vulnerable our electric grid is even without considering Black Swan events, demand for electric vehicles would dry up and blow away.

A good buddy talked me into the H&K p7 m8 a long time ago, when the price only made me wince once or twice. I've never looked back.

diff between 43x and MOS?

The 43X MOS has a cutout for optics and a rail for mounting light/laser. The 43X has neither.

I love the small form factor Mak’s and have a couple; used to have more but I stopped carrying them for two reasons. Mostly the weight. They are a reliable but heavy little firearm. I made the mistake of using one for 4 days of training involving 500 rds. It did jam twice but I think I was limp wristing it both times.

It’s the painful snap one gets from them that got me in the long run. Shooting in a real self defense scenario would not be a big deal since it’s usually over with quickly.

My favorite design is the low barrel CZ and their clones. Really nice and most of them are tack drivers but I haven’t found one in the pocket pistol size. Then again I haven’t really looked in years so maybe one is available now that I don’t know about. I routinely carry a Ruger LCP .380 in the summer or other small 9mm. It’s not what the best pistol is; it’s what you have on you at the time when one is needed (as they say).

I have a glock and they are great guns. Very accurate. But like to carry the sig 365XL. I like the manual safety. Some don’t like manual safeties.

Remembering to disengage the safety on the range is easy. But wait until you're in a high stress situation and go straight to pulling the trigger and nothing happens. I saw a video of just that. Bad guy tries to rob store owner and store owner forgets to disengage safety. Fortunately for him, the robber was a bad shot and the victim eventually remembers to disengage the safety and returns fire. For that reason I'll never carry a firearm with a manual safety. I can count on my Glock to go bang when I pull the trigger.

ALWAYS carry a Glock in a holster, no exceptions, no prob

I love my Glock 43, got the pinky ext mag, 7+1, works great with summer clothes in FL

Every tool has a purpose, I have others, a full size Glock 22 15 rd .40 cal with light n laser for a bedside gun and a Rem 1100 with smooth bore slug barrel and #4 buck close by.

Possibly. Drivel like this certainly gives American Shooting Urinal a run for their money.

Don’t often hear of the G24. Got one several years ago but have yet to fire it. Love the G23 and looking for a G45 or maybe the 43X.

I know this is a Glock post, but I’m a revolver enthusiast. I carry a S&W Model 10 4 inch with a Crimson Trace laser grip inside my pants in a holster under my shirt that I practice with double action. I have a Model 64 .357 in stainless, but I don’t want something so noticeable, and ,38 Plus P hollow points should do the trick. Sometimes, I stick a speed loader in the glove box.

I like my Colt Defender and Kimber Ultra Carry II 45 ACP’s with laser grips. Speer Gold Dot for 3” barrels push those 230 Gr slugs out at 820 fps. 7+1 and two extra mags when I carry.

For backup I like my Kimber Micro 9’s. With the Hogue finger groove grips they fit like a glove. I have the Raptor and Rapide models, both accurate and dependable. I usually carry them in strong-side holsters, but have an SOB that works well too. I always carry two extra mags so capacity isn’t a big worry. Like has been said, if I can’t hit my target inside 20’ after 8 rounds I had it coming.

I have the Sig 365, makes the Glock look like an off brand Taurus. The SiG trigger is the sweetest striker fire ever.
