This pistol is tiny. And of course, it was designed this way with concealed carry in mind. The Glock 43 is remarkably small and can fit in pockets (or a safe) nicely as well as ankle holsters and bags of all sorts. This pistol is the perfect size for really any kind of way you want to carry it, but it does have its limitations.

They are very nice. I looked around for a few months and 365 seemed to be the best for me.
Given law enforcement miss something like 6 out of 10 rounds fired and it takes on average takes 3 rounds to drop an assailant.. anything less than 9 rounds is saying you will perform better in a discharge situation than trained law enforcement.
You may be that good… but it’s a far cry from range shooting and actual live situation.
Any gun is better than no gun if you need one, but I personally wouldn’t choose to carry anything that holds at least 10 rounds
I have a glock and they are great guns. Very accurate. But like to carry the sig 365XL. I like the manual safety. Some don’t like manual safeties.
Been outclassed by the Springfield Hellcat and the Sig P 365.
Or a Hungarian FEG 9x18. Good carry but hard to rack. the slide is very stiff.
Sig P365XL for the win. I like my full-sized Glocks and Walthers, but the P365 series has pretty much ended the concealed carry debate, for now.
I’ve never like Glocks and never will. It’s not because they’re unreliable, accurate or durable, they just feel cheap in the hand and I can’t get over it. The 365 Sig is the first polymer, striker fired pistol I’ve ever owned. Carried Browning Hi-Powers for a couple of decades before switching to SIG’s. Carried a 239 concealed for many years and since we went to open carry I switched to a 226. Still needing a pocket or jacket pistol I tried the 365 and it filled all my needs. Now when I say pocket I mean you better have big pockets because it’s not a true pocket pistol. I haven’t tried the XL yet but I’m afraid I’d throw them my money should I do so. 12 in the mag and one in the chamber takes me back to the Hi-Power days, the extra barrel length is just a bonus. The only pistol I’ve found to be a true pocket pistol (Fits in jean front pockets) has been the little 380 KelTec. Light, thin and goes bang when it’s suppose to, goes in and out of the pocket easily.
Yup, reliable and cheap. Hard to beat.
I’ll continue to buy American.
I’carry my Ruger LC9 pro or my LCP2 if it’s real hot out. Might upgrade to lc9 Max or LCP Max. But am happy with these. Never a hiccup.
I lean toward the axiom that the real safety is person handling the weapon. Then again, accidents happen and if the safety makes someone more comfortable carrying, go with what works.
Go ahead and try the XL. Don’t think of it as throwing money; think of it as investing for the future. Even if we avoid a zombie apocalypse, quality firearms, ammo and good neighbors are always worthy long-term investments.
In cooler seasons I'll carry a Sig P226.
But I carry the Sigs because the DA trigger resistance makes it less likely I might have a negligent discharge.
My bedside gun is a Sig P220 SAE 45 ACP with tac light/laser. Again, I feel more comfortable with that added resistance in the trigger pull. Especially since I could be in a situation where I might not be fully awake and holding the handgun.
The Glocks are fun to shoot at the range. But I don't shoot as much as I used to and the Glock trigger pull is light compared to the first round DA aforementioned Sigs.
I trust Glock. I just don't trust myself to never be guilty of sloppy gun handling.
I still swear by my KelTec P3. Light & thin. I have the side clip on mine so I can keep it high in my pocket if I want to get to it easier.

While Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft is obviously not an American company (now part of a German holding company), the 365 is made in New Hampshire.
I think of it kind of like cars. Japanese, Korean and German cars made in the U.S. almost always have a much higher U.S. made percentage than GM and Ford. Frankly, the leadership of Toyota, Hyundai, etc. are more pro-America than the leadership of GM and Ford.
I had a Springfield XD-40 with a couple 11 round magazines that I used to carry when I’d go hunting with my one shot muzzleloader because there had been sightings of mountain lions.
A guy I was going to school with was recommending getting higher capacity magazines. Told him if they found me later and my gun was empty, I had it coming.

I love my 43, and carry it frequently, but I’m always looking for another solution. I’m relatively fit and tend to wear slim fit shirts. It’s difficult to conceal anything under those.
I bought my wife the S&W Airwieght years ago, but if I’m not carrying my 43, I steal it from her. She ends up left with her Bodyguard .380 popgun. But she’s a better shot than me, so she can usually be center mass if necessary.
