VIDEO: Octopus Seaweed Pan Pizza

VIDEO

An historic moment that took place on October 18, 2019. The worlds FIRST Octopus Seaweed Pan Pizza was prepared and consumed. No human in history has ever before tasted this delectable dish. However, as good as it tasted, it was even better later when eaten cold after I put a piece in the refrigerator for a few hours.

Be sure to boil the slice octopus legs for at least an hour before preparing for the pizza. Add Old Bay or other seasoning for flavoring while boiling. As usual for most pan pizza, cook on the top stove for three minutes and then for 12 to 15 minutes in the oven at 500 degrees. I highly recommend you refrigerate the pizza and eat it cold because for some reason it brings out the flavors, especially the seaweed, better.

Needs pineapple

That's what I stated in the video. I also recommend serving this cold.

Also, do you peel and gut the octopus before making the pizza?

I bought the legs only. If I lived in Hawaii where my nephew is stationed in the Marines, I would go out into the ocean and grab one or more since they are plentiful there.

“....eat it cold because for some reason it brings out the flavors, especially the seaweed, better”. The same reason you drop one ice cube into a double shot of fine Scotch. It makes the flavors bloom and sparkle on the palate.

I'll stick with Spam Musubi for my seaweed. Hold the octopus.

(...before it holds you...)

"serving this cold"

I cannot think up a better way to stink up your refrigerator.

Every thing inside would smell/taste like rotted seaweed & putrid sea animals.

Sick! That’s not a pizza! That’s disgusting! Octopus are sentient creatures, it’s worse than eating dolphins or horses or cats or dogs.

Yeah, try eating octopus without boiling it first...unless you enjoy chewing on rubber.

Korean wedding menus, raw octopus in a Kim Cheese sauce. Plop it on a pizza, add cheese and tomatoes...neh. Now rattler pizza...

Alternate recipe:
Jump in the ocean and swim underwater with your mouth open.

Sentient Critter Pan Pizza? Don't give me ideas.

Jump in the ocean and swim underwater with your mouth open.

I've come close to doing that when I opened sea urchins and ate the eggs right out of them. Yummmie!!!

p.s. Thank you Euell Gibbons for that tip.

My niece and her husband was going to help me take our boat out to go fishing. I went to pick them up and when I walked into the kitchen there was a small dead octopus on a cutting board on the counter. I said.....what the hell are you going to do with that? He said I’m making dip to take out with us. I said....ummm no you’re not. The octopus stays home. Lol

Congratulations! You’ve discovered something less popular on pizza than anchovies.

Sally's! Modern in second, and the Spot would also be tied for second if we could bring back the way it was before Pepe's absorbed it. Historical honorable mention to Tolli's of East Haven (before Frank Tolli was gunned down in a hold up) and Angelo's of North Haven (before Angelo retired and the buyers changed the formula and went out of business a year later).

Amazingly, I found a source for Foxon Park soda here in Phoenix!

Gracious! Foxon is OK....but doesn’t come close to Avery’s; Avery cream or birch beer is to die for.

I agree with your apizza list completely. There’s supposed to be a new pizza joint inn Clinton, that is getting a lot of good reviews. Since it’s about five hours from me, I doubt if I’ll ever get to try the new place.

Good apizza doesn’t exist in Vermont. LOL
