Any Prayer Warriors around?
Since being laid off last June DH has had a lot of job interviews but no offers, and finally took a job at a national chain building supply store, loading trucks.
His usual line is IT, but this part of NY is bad for people out of work. Especially if you're over 35. ***ESPECIALLY*** if you're over 50.
Anyway, second interview today with a good company and a job he's perfect for, they will call him 5-5:30 this afternoon to let him know the outcome.
If God doesn't have a better thing lined up for him, please pray for a successful outcome of this interview. Hubs is a long time poster here but not tagged because I think he'd be embarrassed.
Thanks so much. <3
Prayers offered for you and your husband.
I got asked what my greatest weakness was in an interview once. I told the guy to pick up the phone and call my wife because she could tell him a lot better than I could
Prayers up for DH and his interview.
Prayers sent.
Hoping that satisfaction. will be acheived.
Things are slowly turning around for those of us over 55.
Hopefully it stays that way
I am definitely sending up a prayer for him. I am 58, and I know how he feels.
Good luck and I hope he does well.
Prayer flying your way!
It’s tough all over the country for IT workers. American IT workers, that is.
Good luck to your husband. Hope his prayers are answered.
Sending prayers.
My husband is in IT. It’s been a rocky road over the last 20 years. We had to move to Washington State to find a job. Hate the liberals that saturate the area but there’s work, at least for now. Liberals are proposing a new diversity in hiring so it will be fair game to discriminate against whites especially older white men.
Prayers up and if he can afford it find a good coder camp with job placement services. I’m an older guy too and still in IT so I fully understand what he’s going through.
But my God shall supply all if your needs... Temporal or eternal, Jesus has your back. Trust Him. Blessings
Sounds like someone that would greatly benefit any company. Thanks for asking and you certainly have my prayers.
Prayers sent up!
Let us know how it goes.
I am praying. We have faced losing jobs.
Keep us posted!!
There is (was?) this trend that at least for first interview one assumes the resume is accurate and instead of asking technical questions related to the job would ask a series of odd questions to attempt to determine your personality, work traits, etc.
I was in an interview a few years ago when I was asked, “Whats your favorite tree?” I like trees. I like a lot of trees for a lot of reasons, I don’t think I have a favorite. Im trying to guess where this is going while a long list of trees I like pops into my head. Finally, I blurt out, “Mmmm, black walnut.”
She then asks, “What is it you like about black walnut and what how are you going to bring that to the workplace?”
I burst out laughing, I just couldn’t control it. Somehow I knew that “valuable hardwood and tasty nuts” wasn’t the answer she was looking for.
Prayers are up for DH. I’m 58 and ad the same problems. I am an IT Manager so if this doesn’t work out,(it will) please reach out to me as my company is always looking for good IT people. And we allow remote work.
FReeper PRayer BUmp!
I’ve prayed for your man; and you can pray for my son who is over 55, that his IT job may secure and not threatened. Higher-up management very often do not appreciate what the IT people do for them in trying to help the company stay afloat in ways that IT novices cannot begin to grasp. either.
No word yet. Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. Thank you for sharing your experiences, too.
Sweet Jesus help these people who have turned to You in their hour of need.
