I don’t know if this article is a screeching rant or a ranting screech. But it’s definitely bilious.

At some point shortly, by law in the UK....food portions at fast-food shops...will be set to a calorie amount. If you walk into a Burger King and order the Double Whopper, it’ll be limited to roughly 850 calories. The present Double Whopper is 900 calories. So something....maybe the meat, the bun or the sauce....will have to be decreased, for them to sell it to you.

What’ll happen? Folks will start to carry along additives (bacon, sauce, etc) and add them onto the whopper at the table.

Were the controlling crowd correct? You can look around and admit that we are contributing to our own weight issues, and increasing our chances for problems.

This is not a catastrophic situation. They just want more grant money.

Universal insurance (obamacare, medicaid, etc.) will limit your meat and calorie intake or you will be denied medical service. You may even be subject to community service to work off those "extra" pounds (determined by your elected elites - who never seem to lose weight or be without a well-grilled steak).

The fat content and calorie count of restaurant food will be strictly controlled and decreased a little at a time so the public will be unaware of the changes. We may even be limited in how much meat we can buy per month. Big Brother will be watching...

Don’t think for a minute that if such draconian food measures were imposed, the professor and other liberal elites wouldn’t be eating steak and lobster, flying in private jets to global warming conferences and living in energy hog mansions while us peasants would eating our vegetarian gruel, walking or bicycling to work and freezing or sweltering in our government dictated energy efficient hovels. As Orwell described.... “All animals are equal...but some are more equal than others”.

I was trained as a scientist. I have three degrees in science. And I do not understand this argument.

We must eat differently to avoid "millions of deaths". But if, as they also claim, humans are destroying the planet, surely avoiding millions of deaths will cause even more damage to the planet.

Even by its own premises, this report is garbage.

If anyone thinks so highly of himself that he believes he has the right to tell another human being what food to eat, he is nothing but an arrogant fascist.

Take Soda Pop “Blah-blah” DiBlasio for example.

Looks like the author cropped the photo...the rest of her could be seen in the full photo posted in some thread yesterday. *barf* Obviously neither hot nor young.

While we would all do better with more fruits and veggie's and less sugar and processed snacks, we certainly don't need the gov't interfering.

Didn't they used to limit what food stamps could be used for?

There will always be sugar added. Its needed to create the cravings that drive obesity, cravings, overeating and sales of cardboard tasting snacks.

Sugar or a sugar substitute, made from other sources like corn, beets or chemicals, when added to almost anything, Soy-lent Gold for example, make it consumable.

Its worth it to a lot of people. Our induced craving supports a lot of industries: making us fat and sick, keeping us misinformed, and maybe the disturbing; selling us the “cure” or preferably, the maintenance.
