The activity in the video below is called “ballot harvesting,” and it’s 100% legal in California, where this was filmed.
The state sends ballots to every registered voter. When people engage in “ballot harvesting,” they go to voters’ houses, offer to “help” them fill in their ballot, and then offer to mail their ballot for them.
At 0:43 in this video, the woman who is doing the “ballot harvesting” says:
“We’re offering this service, but only for people who are supporting the Democratic Party”
I don’t know if that particular part is legal.
But it sure doesn’t seem ethical to me.
And it’s certainly hypocritical for a party that is always saying it wants to count “all” the votes.
It’s like “tweeting” or using Facebook:
The competition is doing it; adapt or die.
Patriots beware!
If a ballot harvester comes to your door asking for your ballot, don’t give it to person. Harvester may be a Democrat who will “file” your ballot in the nearest dumpster.
That being said, why aren’t conservatives harvesting ballots?
Legal? Yes. Ethical? Who cares? Winning is all that matters.
Republicans sure got snookered by this. Democrats started oiling the harvesting machine the moment Governor Brown signed it into law.
Ideally, this should be one of those dirty tricks that only works once. Republicans had better come up with a plan.

Voting should only be done a polling place on Election Day, early voting only at a government office or embassy and mailed ballots only for US service personnel. This whole vote by mail, votes delivered by third parties and motor voters should be banned.
You can't totally blame the (D)s because the (R)s were either too dumb, too lazy to thwart what was before them.

If the Stupid Party doesn’t get moving on getting the portion of the laws that allow ‘ballot harvesting’ declared unconstitutional, they will deserve what they get.
Unfortunately I have no faith in that happening.
