I would never recommend anything but a revolver for anyone who does not shoot often and become very experienced.

I agree. Why do they always have to compare anything to a Glock. Glocksters, lol. (snicker) (snicker)

The beauty of a wheel gun is it doesn’t leave the spent cartridges laying about.

And if you are inexperienced and don't shoot often then I would never recommend a caliber as big as either of these because you won't be able to hit the broad side of a barn unless its pure luck.

I would never recommend anything but a revolver for anyone who does not shoot often and become very experienced. Agree. I have my wife packing a 38spl revolver 2 1/2 barrel. Shes an excellent shot and loves to shoot my 9mm Beretta but doesnt shoot often enough to develop necessary muscle memory to handle all the various scenarios that could come up in a threat situation when using a semi. So, she packs the revolver, just pull the trigger and it goes bang. Btw, you obliquely addressed this but for those who live in Rio Linda the 357 round is designed for revolvers and the 10mm is designed for semis. So, step one in choosing between a 10mm and a 357 round is deciding if you want to pack a revolver or semi, then work through the decision process from there. Btw, one last input for those from Rio Linda; the 357 is actually 38 caliber and can interchangeably fire the 38 special round which is much cheaper for practice. Or, if the 357 round is found to be a bit too stout the 38spl round can be used when carrying. Thats it 😊...

Also your bedside piece.
Awoken in the middle of the night. Is there a round in the chamber? safety off? magazine in and locked?
And just the stress of the situation. You need the foolproof piece with the long stiff trigger pull. No 'it went off accidentally' stuff.
.357 with .38+P hollowpoints. (save your ears)
