I would guess the author of the article does not understand the dynamics in a abusive relationship. These were not dates or casual flings. These were not women hoping to gain favors by tolerating sexual advances or outright sexual abuse. A better comparison is to a wife or long time girlfriend who is in an abusive relationship.
Abusers are predators. They are manipulative. They are very, very, good at intimidation and threats. They know how to cajole, promise, and act contrite. They know how to deflect blame and make the victim feel responsible for failing to behave in a way to prevent the abuse. Women stay in these relationships because they are made to believe leaving presents a more serious threat. Or because they are made to believe they are so worthless this is the relationship they deserve. Often both.
Note too that the abuse was not by any means limited to times of sexual intimacy. But attacks when a person is most vulnerable are certainly the most effective.
Bless you. And I mean that with my heart.

Read the New Yorker article, then come back with an informed thought. Please.
You're tough. That's something not all men think about unless they were taught that at home.
He is still a deviant sick scumbag.
But yeah, these women didnt have to keep going.
First true answer.
Though I would add:
Especially liberal women.
These were all liberal elite females who admitted to not wanting to harm “the cause”. Since this lad was such an important part of that movement.
No doubt, as he would have told them numerous times, he expected an even more prominent role under a Clinton Whitehouse.
Trump winning was probably the beginning of his downfall.
Thanks!
Good for you!
Those can be due to financial need. But these women weren't married to or employed by him. There was no financial dependency.
Thank you for the link.
To everyone who replied to me:
There is a huge difference between role playing and beating your wife in the time-honored traditional way.
I am totally against all this “me too” stuff. I was a feminist before these women were even born. This is not the way you fight this stuff, by ruining men’s careers and in this case accusing him of things that aren’t even true because you don’t know the difference.
Go to visit them personally. And then work on the problem through social means. Don’t succumb to revenge. Their soul is more important than the public exposure your wonderful body might get in the process of public accusation and more important than revenge, which is never ours to take.
There is plenty of stuff to accuse Schneiderman of that is actually true. Get off the PC pussy hat bandwagon.
“They are flat-out helping democrat thugs do their dirty work.”
Yes.
Thanks for telling me about those two specific incidents.
Ask Bill Cosby and Bill Clinton.
"Relax. They've got plenty of useful idiots who will help take the spot light off of us."
I think a better question is: If he was innocent, why did he immediately resign?
Eddie Murphy gives a lesson in how a woman should handle a man who hits her (language warning):

Those are not good questions. They are taunting questions and work against further exposure of the NY dem/media axis.
They also work against Trump, as I and others have explained on this thread.
Stockholm syndrome?
“...and beating your wife in the time-honored traditional way”
Oh pleeeeeze tell me I did not just read that s*it. I read the New Yorker article. This was not role playing. These were not off the wall accusations by bitter exes. These were substantial allegations of repeated abuse along with threats. The abuse was corroborated by physical evidence such as medical reports.
The description of the douchnozzles behavior could have been taken from a textbook on abusive relationships. I don’t care how monied the victims are. I don’t care what their politics are. I care that the POS formerly known as the AG of NY will never be in a position to hurt women again. The fact his fall can’t hurt his political opponents is a nice bonus. But even if he voted straight up Conservative on every issue he still would need to be gone.
