So We Lost a Battle Vanity
Me | Today | Me

Posted on 03/23/2018 11:27:02 AM PDT by waterhill

This is just a battle lost, not the war. Its gonna be ok. I am embarrassed for and of some of you FReepers. Rub some dirt on it and walk it off, go to the range, drink it off, cry in your pillows, whatever...

Quit whining. Quit acting like snowflakes. Or just opus-out and don't come back. Posers.

(Rant off)

I agree.

I hope others will also look at the big picture.

I still have faith in Trump.

AGREED. Trump took a body blow for our military.

This is McConnell's doing. I challenge all freepers to get up to speed (research) 1. Chao family 2. Foremost Group 3) where Mitch went after he married Chao. I'd love for Kentucky freepers to keep us updated on McConnell 's appearances in KY. If he ever goes there.

McConnell is a traitor in the absolutely LITERAL sense of the word. He is selling out the US for cash from China. This needs to be widely exposed.

“That’s what “we” said last time.”

We need to keep trying, until eventually we do win.

Really? Be serious.

I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

I'm not talking about the well-motivated FReeper, who will still go out and hold their nose to vote, I'm talking about the heartland conservatives. I said they'll stay home, and I'll stick to that. Why did Trump win? Because he motivated people to go out and vote for him, when they normally stay home. That's why the pollsters were so wrong.

Come November, they won't be motivated to get out to the polls at all, they'll stay home and not vote. Meanwhile the Democrats are motivated out the Ying Yang to vote AGAINST Trump, which is why historically the party in power loses seats in the off year election.

I blame Trump for not vetoing this bill, and avoiding the heat he would take for the subsequent government shutdown, but I really blame the GOP leadership in both the House and the Senate for giving away the store, in secret, to the Democrats, then springing this on the rank and file with 12 hours to read it.

It stinks to high heaven, and it's got GOP fingerprints all over it. It didn't raise Trump in Democrat's eyes, but it sure lowered Trump in my eyes.

In order to win a war, we actually have to win once in a while....

It feels like the tax cut was a win along with 23 federal judges and a Supreme plus 97,482 illegal immigrant arrests, 70 percent convicted of additional crimes, 52,169 expelled; adopted a resolute policy on Afghanistan; advocated for practical tertiary education; advocated for skills-based immigration policies; American companies now expanding rather than shipping jobs overseas; announced sanctions targeting Iran’s Revolutionary Guards; appointed a Transportation Secretary who is modernizing air traffic control; appointed an Education Secretary who is correcting abuses of Title IX; appointed an EPA administrator who has rescinded over 30 regulations; appointed an FDA director who is facilitating generic drug competition; appointed an Interior Secretary to improve forest management and expand users of public lands; approved the Keystone pipeline; called for international support of Iranian protesters; canceled school lunch program that failed to force children to eat unpopular foods; convinced Japan and South Korea to increase defense spending; convinced NATO members to honor minimum financial commitments; decertified Iranian nuclear treaty and sent it to Senate as constitutionally required; designated North Korea as a state-sponsor of terrorism; eliminated prohibition on interstate health insurance sales; ended abuses of the student loan forgiveness program....

That's just some of what the President accomplished in the first 12 months, but you don't see any of this as a win?

.....he didn't even try to stop this bill.

One of the reasons we voted for him was to TO STOP THE SPENDING

He didn't even try.

There wasn't even a compromise here.

He just rolled over and died.

Good point. As long as Trump keeps sticking his finger in the communists/dem eyes, I’m ok.
What else is there?

I am embarrassed you posted this, how about that?

No matter how you and others want to spin this and then come down on those of us who do not agree with your thinking, etc.. no matter how much perfume you spray on an utter piece of sh*t, that piece of sh*t remains, you guessed it, an utter piece of sh*t.

We got badly needed money for the military. Everything else is just the way the system currently works.

>He just rolled over and died.

Looking at the house and senate votes, Ryan and McTurtle made sure there already exceeded the veto override margins.

I’m all for the fighting but a veto guaranteed to blow back in his face would’ve done what for you?

As the last poster before I type this wrote, this is a POS no matter how we polish it, but I’m not seeing how Trump could’ve stopped it inside the confines of the Constitution.

If there’s any consolation, even the market hates this one, so it’s not like the 1% are partying tonight; only deep state scum.

Listen up dumbf**k, people here have right to be pissed off and even more of a right to post about it!

Maybe you should go read FR's mission statement on the home page: "We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America."

It's right at the top.

What it doesn't say is, "unless this person has a (R) after their name in which case we're totally cool with the expansion of big government liberalism."

So you may wanna knock it off calling people who have every right to be pissed and angry a bunch of snowflakes and posers.

Hi. Apparently you’re going to go personal; so congrats, you’re my first ‘report abuse’ in a very very long time here.

In any case you chose to totally miss the point. Our useless congress passed this thing with veto-proof-majorities. Please address the point, and tell me exactly what you would’ve liked to do in Trump’s place and how that would’ve made things better.

As for me, as there is only one vote forthcoming, I’ve noted the names of the D senator I was already going to vote against and the R congressswamper who has earned a vote against in the primary (have no idea if there’s a choice, going to see) and in the general.

Not exactly full of hope on that front but blaming the FReeper next door isn’t an answer.
