Back pain is a common problem. According to the World Health Organization, various diseases of the musculoskeletal system affect almost 80 percent of the population. Here is how your sleeping position can change your back pain. Everyone at least once in their life has dealt with back pain.

"Computers, office work, and other joys of modern society affect human health,” says neuroscientist Matthew Walker, director of the Center for Science of Human Sleep at the University of California at Berkeley.

Mixed together or vinegar straight with a water chaser?

I had GI issues just after college. Endoscopy, various "infusions" of barium, etc.

After two hospitalizations, they said they'd recommend exploratory surgery to run the bowel if I continue to have problems. I'm really not a clear liquid diet type of guy, so I wasn't looking forward to being cut open that way.

Hence the baking soda...

Thirty-five+ years later, baking soda is still the goto solution.

And no surgery.

However, on the maternal side, two diagnosis of diverticulitis. Maybe one surgery.

A friend of mine was on those anti-acid meds and developed a bad tremor. He thought he had Parkinsons but it was the PPI drugs. He stopped those drugs and began to take vinegar (I think) and the tremor gradually went away. It took a while.

Ground beef can be a ticking acid bomb with me. Don't have enough information to understand what "kind", or under what circumstances, but the acid production will wake me up.

I don't think it matters what side I'm sleeping on, either.

Insurance companies are pushing back. They’ll suddenly stopping approving your refills. It happened to me, I take pantoprazole. A 90 day supply costs me about $1.50. I’m currently “approved” for 18 months, then I’ll have to have my doc seek reapproval.

LOL, I think I’m in trouble. I have back pain and acid stomach. So I have to sleep on my right side for my back pain, but then I have to sleep on the left side for the stomach acid. Guess it doesn’t matter which side I sleep on because I go to sleep when my head hits the pillow and never wake up until the alarm goes off.

I am at a point where my system can not handle any beef item! Besides indigestion and acid, it gives me constipation and gas. Fish works best, Chicken next.

food stays in stomach for 60-120 minutes before slowly released in intestine, unless the sphincter at stomach exit is damaged. All that time there is full amount of acid in stomach. Most people with acid reflux have a poorly functioning valve at stomach entrance. That is why sleeping on left side helps. Because stomach entry is on right side.

At the end of day it all depends which part of stomach has issue, entry or exit. Eack person will need to find out for themseves.

I make some weird noises at night and can wake myself up. I think the noises are from my eating ice cream after dinner. Change what you eat and you will sleep better.
I tried many types of pillows and bought a few mattresses and found this works for me. I have no back pain from this topper.

Get the 2” latex topper. I did and I choose the soft latex which lays on top my firm mattress. It is like sleeping on a cloud.
Just perfect for my 5’ 11” 185lb self.

2” All-Natural Support System Latex Mattress Topper
https://www.myorganicsleep.com/products/02in-latex-mattress-topper

Order it with a Heavy duty Certified Organic Cotton. The latex will shred around the edges if you do not.

Order these samples to test. I ordered all 3. Soft, Medium, Firm. $4.19 each
https://www.myorganicsleep.com/products/latex-sample%20

The next mattress I get will be a all latex one as conventional mattress ALWAYS end up with body shaped divits!
Latex bounces back in original shape. What I am looking at maybe getting. I had already bought 3 mattresses in past 8 years and was disappointed in them so hopefully this latex one will be the one.

Zenhaven mattress - You can use both sides. Expensive but I already spent this amount for 3 poor conventional mattress’s.

I also changed what pillows I use. I bought two 1.75” high latex pillows and put on a pillow protector and then a pillowcase. I choose latex as it stays cool and pushes back gently to support your head. The memory foam I had before would not support my head and was too warm. I have them in a pillow protector and a pillow case. I use one when on my back and two when on my side. The normal pillows you see are just too high for me.

Slim Sleeper - Natural Latex Foam Pillow. I bought 2. I use one when on my back and 2 if I am on my side.

Which makes sense and is easy to test. That, of course, and avoid lying down to sleep within 2 1/2 hours of a meal.

That looks very close to our Lhasa if I let her hair grow long and make her stand in front of a table fan lol.

I’ve never had a Lhasa, though lots of Bichons. Rory (named for a Dr Who companion) is a Havanese. Had never even HEARD of one until the day we brought him home. Personality and brains of a Cairn. Except for his fixation of sitting on my head.

Lhasas are GORGEOUS!
