Harvard’s Lawrence Lessig Insists Clinton Could Still Be Installed as President
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | October 17, 2017 | Alex Griswold

A Harvard Law professor posted an essay on social media recently that laid out a complicated process he believes could lead to Hillary Clinton still becoming President of the United States.

Lawrence Lessig flirted with running for president as a Democrat in 2016, but dropped out before the primaries. After Donald Trump won the election, he led a failed effort to convince the electoral college to ignore the voters' will and install Clinton.

In a Medium post last week, the professor insisted it was still possible for the eventual Democratic nominee to become president.

Lessig said the first step was proving current president Donald Trump colluded with Russian agents to win the election."If that is shown, then the first step is obvious. Trump should resign or, if he doesn’t, he should be impeached."

"The second step should be obvious as well: Pence should resign or, if he doesn’t, he should be impeached. He benefited from the criminal (and treasonous) conspiracy just as much as Trump," Lessig continued.

With Trump and Pence out of the way, the presidency would then fall to Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. But Lessig insisted it was possible Ryan would appoint Clinton his vice president and then resign.

"He should nominate the person defeated by the treason of his own party, and then step aside, and let her become the President," he argued.

"I realize this all sounds crazy right now," Lessig admitted.

However crazy it might have sounded, outlets like Newsweek treated his ideas seriously, writing a piece headlined, "How Hillary Clinton Still Can, And Should, Become President After The Trump-Russia Investigation."

What law school worth the investment would even have a law professor this ignorant?

wiki:

Lessig has been politically liberal since studying philosophy at Cambridge in the mid-1980s. By the late 1980s when he was selected to serve as a law clerk for two influential conservative judges, Judge Richard Posner and Justice Antonin Scalia, he was effectively the token liberal on their staffs, chosen for his brilliance rather than for his ideology.[20] Posner would later call him “the most distinguished law professor of his generation.”[21]

Lessig has emphasized in interviews that his philosophy experience at Cambridge radically changed his values and career path. Previously, he had held strong conservative or libertarian political views, desired a career in business, was a highly active member of Teenage Republicans, served as the Youth Governor for Pennsylvania through the YMCA Youth and Government program[22] in 1978, and almost pursued a Republican political career.

(snip)

Lessig remains skeptical of government intervention but favors some regulation, calling himself “a constitutionalist.” On one occasion, Lessig also commended the John McCain campaign for discussing fair use rights in a letter to YouTube where it took issue with YouTube for indulging overreaching copyright claims leading to the removal of various campaign videos.[23]

Lessig has known President Barack Obama since their days of both teaching law at the University of Chicago.

They can make Harvey Weinstein president via the same process. The problem is once you take the election away from us, we don’t have democracy any longer and it’s hard to see any results except revolution or tyranny.

“All I have to do is claim that money and it will be mine”

A better analogy ... All you have to do is convince the richest man to give you his money.

Lessig’s plan has four steps. That’s too complicated! Here’s my simplified, three-step plan:

1. Pence resigns to start a llama farm in Peru.
2. Trump appoints Hillary as VP.
3. Trump resigns to help Pence run his llama farm in Peru.

See, much less complicated. It doesn’t involve Speaker Ryan at all. I know my plan sounds crazy, but that’s only because llamas are involved. If you can get past the llamas, you’ll understand that my plan makes perfect sense.

The nutcase is a law professor, but his scheme is all about political fantasy, not the law. The guy must be truly stupid to say crap like this in public.

Assume a candidate “colluded” with the Russians to influence the election by having bloggers post inconvenient facts about the opposing candidate or run obscure Facebook ads. What law exactly prohibits that? What proof is there that this actually changed anything? And why would Ryan give up the Presidency once it was handed to him? Or appoint Hillary as his VP — he’s a RINO, but he has lots better pals than Hillary. Even Romney. Has Lessig been sampling the Fentanyl?

So, Clinton is going to be confirmed by the Republican Senate?

I don’t think that would happen....EVER !!

If the Republicans in the Senate voted to confirm the Pig in a Pantsuit as VP they would be tarred and feathered when they returned home.

"I realize this all sounds crazy right now," Lessig admitted.

Lessig then insisted he could win the Battle of Waterloo if he could have a do-over.
