Hollywood projects famously come in pairs, from movies about asteroids to movies about Hercules, and that rule apparently holds true even when it comes to the highly specific subgenre of TV series envisioning an alternate end to the American Civil War. For the last two weeks, HBO and Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have been dealing with the backlash over the announcement of Confederate, a TV series set in a United States where the South successfully seceded and slavery remains legal below the Mason-Dixon Line. And now Amazon has revealed that it’s planning Black America, a series created by Will Packer and Boondocks cartoonist Aaron McGruder in which, as a form of reparations, black Americans have annexed three former slave states and founded a country of their own called New Colonia....

They DID get their own country. It’s called Haiti.
“Guns of the South” was a book about South African mercenaries who go back in time to give the AK-47 to the besieged soldiers of the Confederacy.

Excellent question and yes.
The fact that ammo is actually harder to manufacture than the weapon itself was also treated in the book.
It is more likely going to be another vehicle for Social Justice Warriors to keep preaching at the rest of us for not giving them our money fast enough.
I was thinking the same thing-and isn’t Haiti one of those places, too? Neither of those appear to be terribly prosperous, so I suppose this series will be a total work of fiction...
Liberia...
Sounds like a Liberal America.
Which would not be a bad idea. Just to keep them in a separate country, or separate countries. But, instead of Liberia, they would have to call themselves Mexifornia (for the western new country, and Libeuro (for the eastern new country).
The remaining states could continue calling themselves the USA. There would be economic and defense treaties among the separate new countries, but legally, they would be separate.
Yeah Liberia was an older idea. 1820. Capital was named after James Monroe. It is in Africa.
The place lincoln wanted to send freed slaves too was in Guiana in South America

No series necessary. All these producers have to do is stroll through black areas of Detroit, Chicago and New Orleans. They won’t get out with cameras- if at all. OR- Barack could lead a movement to make the whole of Illinois black only. Give all whites market value for their property, move’em out then wait for the great,black kingdom to rise. Just be prepared to bulldoze the place when that happens.
One word: Haiti.
