I love the S&Ws especially the 10mms. The hard to find carbon steel 4505 is interesting as it was ordered for our submariners and made in a limited number (1,500).

Care to share info on your choice for the upgraded sights and what ammo it likes to consume?

There is a Tritium tube sight available thru Kensight and several other suppliers that will fit the Bersa, which uses a staked dove tail. Consult an experienced gun smith.

It's a front sight only, but combined with the rear adjustable blade sight enhanced with "Bright Sight" (Google it, it's readily available), I have a good sight picture under almost any light conditions, even for my nearly 70 year old eyes.

As far as ammo, I shoot an average of 30 rounds per day of Rem UMC FMJ, it's cheap...I buy it by the case.

I carry Hornady Defenders in my carry mags, they run a little more, about 18 bucks for a box of 20.

I live in an isolated rural area with my own range.

I shoot daily and it comes as natural to me as booting up this PC and logging onto FR or my daily check of the security of the gates, the mouse traps in my shop, turning on the pool filter, etc.

I do recommend the Bersa...I realize it's not for every one, but it is a well made handgun even being manufactured in Argentina.

I've put well over 3000 rounds through one with no hiccups, no misfeeds, no misfires. In fact, it feeds and runs better than a Walther PPK I have. First shot is DA, the rest are SA...or you can thumb the hammer back for SA on the first shot and decock if not needed.

I do recommend the Mecgars magazine, though as opposed to the OEM Bersa mag.

Has a higher capacity and just seems to be made better.

I did replace the grips with my own design and aftermarket grips are available.

Not bad at all for less than 300 dollars.

Lol! My cheap 45acp Ruger fires any ammo flawlessly all day long while my brother’s fancy $1000 1911 doesn’t like anything but ballammo.

I carry a revolver when I’m where I might need a gun for selfdefense. Absolutely no chance of a jam.

Nothing beats that revolver. It’ll definitely knock them down.

Thanks for your thoughts and details on your Bersa. Forgot to ask about your choice of method of carry and what holster you use.

So this is a Bersa .380?

Yep.

Currently available (if you're a dealer) for 275 or so...the PX had them at one time for around 225.

Not a "knock him on his ass" round, I know, but put in the right place will do the job.

...what holster you use.

Custom made Kydex with quick-detach belt loops...'cause some folks get all upset about going into their place with a..., gasp!...GUN on their side.

Not that I particularly care about liberal paroxysms or their imminent strokes about a GUN!, but there are some I respect, that I visit regularly and do honor their desires.

Not necessarily liberals as I stay as far away from them as possible, but there are some that are just not worth the hassle, so I temporarily disarm.

The Kydex makes it easier.

It also does not soak up sweat, is lighter and much more form-fitting than leather.

Many gun shops have the capability to make one, now, for just about any gun out there.

Glock makes 30 different models, but they’re all pretty boring. ;)
