” I don’t remember John McCain putting much on the table that we didn’t or couldn’t get from Bill or Hillary Clinton. “

Establishment Republicans only differ from Democrats with regards to war and tax cuts for the businesses that are their donors.

McCain pretty much became the leader of the Republicrats and he is grooming Grahmnesty to replace him as leader.

He refuses to see that the reason why Trump won the Republican nomination was that the public was tired of empty “ideas”. They wanted somebody who would actually GET SOMETHING DONE.

And you might recall that EIGHTY percent of GOP Primary voters supported someone who wasn't a Republican politician (Carson, Carly, Trump), or was one whom the RNC often and openly fought against (Cruz), for daring to support the notion of a Constitutionally Limited Government. The RNC and Bush spent $100,000,000+ to get 3% of the vote. THAT'S how much the GOP has abandoned ideas and their voters.

Per the title, precisely right. Both the dems and repubs have lost their way with regard to the constitution and this country’s founding principles. they both have become large government nanny state proponents to the detriment of liberty and opportunity in America.

Trump is not perfect, no one person is. If any of the growing scar tissue covering THE constitutional representative republic of the United States can be removed, then he is the right man for the job right now.

Even there they aren't so different. Bill and Hillary Clinton were as interventionist as neoconservative Republicans (although the rhetoric they used to justify it was slightly different), and they weren't opposed to signing tax cuts into law if they benefited their cronies. That's why a lot of establishment Republicans covertly or overtly supported Hillary in the general election.

Wanting to secure the borders, protect citizens, curb illegal immigration, and bring jobs back to the USA is far right extremism?

March 3, 2016: Salon - “My goal is to destroy the Republican Party”: Former Reagan adviser Bruce Bartlett explains his vote for Donald Trump

Historian and former Ronald Reagan aide Bruce Bartlett has been a longtime critic of the right-wing conservatism that has taken hold of the Republican Party and he now sees Donald Trump as the best shot of finally extinguishing the Tea Party takeover of the GOP by ensuring historic electoral defeat for the Republican Party this November.

[snip]

“My goal is to try to destroy the Republican Party,” Bartlett explained of his vote for Trump in the Virginia primary. “I think only when it has reached rock bottom can responsible Republicans once again come back and make it a reasonable governing party.”

“Right now,” Bartlett said his party is “just a coalition of cranks, and racists and bigots and religious kooks.” The Tea Party, Bartlett said, “have to be run out of the Party completely.”

“And I think Trump is the vehicle that will allow that to happen,” Bartlett explained:

I think if he gets the nomination, and I hope he does, he will go down to a historic defeat. I think the Republican establishment will have no choice but to disown him. I think there will be a very substantial “Republicans for Hillary” effort and I think he will lose disastrously and hopefully bring down a lot of Republican senators and congressmen with him.

Trump was a guaranteed loser, I thought. In the Virginia presidential primary, I even voted for him, hoping to hasten the party’s demise.

This happened all over the place.

Trump was Hillary's choice of who she wanted to run against.

And many of her supporters voted for Trump in the primaries.

They KNEW that she had it all wrapped up because of the Demoncrapic Super-Delegates.

She got her choice.

And she got royally bit in the backside.

Boo-Fricking-Hoo.

..................................... Because the Media convinced her it was just a walk in the park, the push polls were behind her, and she had it all in the bag. Now I wish someone would just slam and nail the Clinton Coffin shut. They are soooo yesterday.

I wore out about halfway through that but if he’s right things are going even better than I realized!

This sounds just like something from the Reagan years.

Bruce must be a complete moron if he believed Hillary would have fixed what's wrong with this country. She is what's wrong with the country. Bruce trusted a corrupt, dirty old bitch to do the right thing. A woman who has never had ethics, class or morals. What a loser.

I don’t know what went wrong with Bruce, but he clearly lost his marbles when GWB was president. That’s been awhile, so if it was a brain tumor he probably would have died by now. My guess is it’s a woman.

He was really good at one time.

Dumbass describes why he’s dumfounded. What’s really funny is he is so self-absorbed he thinks his vote and writing put Trump over the top.

Thought he was referring to the Dem party. Their only idea for years and years is how to come up with another scheme to drain tax dollars which then disappear into rabbit holes going into their own pockets.
