The pizza gestapo are coming: Obamacare's disastrous new food regulation set to take effect

The pizza gestapo are coming, according to a new report from the National Review.

A little-known provision in the Affordable Care Act (aka “Obamacare”) is about to come into effect, and it could sink pizza franchises nationwide.

The regulation would require restaurant chains with twenty or more locations to post nutritional information for every item on the menu and every variation of item on the menu.

Domino’s executives figured out that there are over 34 million different combinations of toppings for their pizzas. That’s a big sign -- and an expensive one. Domino’s are owned and operated by individual businesspeople, and each new sign could cost as much as $5,000, a crippling sum for restaurants already operating on a shoestring budget.

What're'ya' KIDDIN' ???

THIS PIZZA HAS ENOUGH CRAP IN IT TO KILL YOU BEFORE YOU GET HOME" could be printed in large, bold font right on the box and Americans will order three of 'em.

Two for at home and one to eat in the car on the ride.

Single payer would be a nice side effect for the Marxists, but the primary goal of Ocare is to bankrupt everyone and everything.

How about a cheap computer at each location. You can put in the size and toppings of the pizza you want and it tells you the bad news that you knew anyway.

$400

Screw the regulation.........I’m still going to eat pizza with or without odumbo’s damn regulations. Trump can issue an EO to disregard that one at anytime.

Just ignore this part of the law. Laws are optional anymore.

Unless you are a peon, then the law applies.

Heck, I just re-read what I wrote and I think I have a brilliant idea ...

One, universal sign;

"Every ingredient in this pizza is known to cause cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and death ... in California"

THAT should satisfy even moonbeam and his cohorts.

I think the reg requires a sign, so that you see the info without interacting. HOWEVER, we can employ a variation on your idea. Domino's can have a scrolling display that it has all 34,000,000 combinations. It should be set up on continual scroll, so that you might have to wait seven or eight hours to get your combination. It would have to scroll awfully fast, though.

Simple solution. List the calories of a slice of plain pizza and then the calories of each of the possible toppings. Customers can do their own math.

So if slice of plain pizza is 270 calories and I order it with mushrooms (30) and sausage (110), then I get 410 calories for that slice of pizza.

Multiply that by my usual 8 slices and you get 3280 calories.

Math is fun!

Ignore it. Sessions Trump won’t enforce. To do otherwise is irresponsible as a business owner.

I’ll have my Tombstone 5 cheese, Pizza Hut supreme style pizzas and Schiano’s beef bolis all the way (no green pepper though) and to hell with the pleasure gestapo.

Well it seems closing credits are required for movies shown on Tv , and they can fly by. Cannot even read small print on most disclaimers on Tv ads for cars etc

That’s silly to make a huge sign with all the combinations. List it by ingredient.

Anyone buying a pizza doesn’t care about nutritional info. Neither does anyone buying a burger, fried chicken, kung pow panda, beer batter fried cod with lots of crunchy bits, an enchilada plate or much of anything outside a salad.

My aunt makes a pizza that I would put against anybody else’s homemade ones.

Here’s a slice:

That’s the first thing I thought of. Simple algorithm. Nothing more than a calculator. The cash register could print it out on the receipt.

Still, it’s actually good news. People will keep finding out how insane the ACA really is which will make it easier to repeal.

We need to share stuff like this. People love their food.
