Fake News Misleads On Obama Surveillance Of Trump

The White House is aware of phone calls between retired lieutenant-general Michael Flynn and ambassador Sergey Kislyak, a senior US official told the Associated Press.

It is not clear how the current administration learned of the contacts, although the AP noted that US monitoring of Russian officials’ communication within America is known to be common.

Flynn’s contacts with Kislyak reportedly included several calls on 29 December

This article is dated Jan 13, 2017. So this is clearly the Obama White House. And since it is a communications intercept from the NSA, it is clear the Obama White House was aware of the surveillance. Also note that the US Person is named and then leaked. Unless someone wants to retract this story and its sources, we have clear evidence of the Obama White House monitoring a Trump campaign member – end update

#Obamagate (the use of our nation’s intelligence apparatus by the Obama administration to surveillance then Presidential Candidate Trump and his associates) is exploding. The denizens of the Political Industrial Complex* (PIC) have overplayed their hand in an attempt to create a fictional crisis surrounding now-President Trump. In the process, they exposed a series of truly high crimes.

This is a pretty good read - lays out the entire timeline about the CIA, NSA and wiretapping.

It is more likely the Russian Ambassador was 'wired'.

AP noted that US monitoring of Russian officials’ communication within America is known to be common

the 1/13 date is real close to the NYTimes articles of 01/19 & 01/20.

From the Times Public Editor - today - twistin the their wiretap stories:

Elisabeth Bumiller, the bureau chief, said the January story was referring to information picked up from wiretaps and other intelligence collected overseas, a process that requires no warrants.

so which is it...here or there ?
the answer is probably "yes".

Monitoring of foreign sourced communications does not require a warrant, that's how they skirt around it.

The entire timeline?

I think it'd be t least as useful to go back to the date Hillary first alleged Russian tampering and collusion with Trump's campaign.

She was into that meme before most of us voted.

The United States was not in a state of war with Russia in 2016 and they had normal diplomatic relations. I think the onus is on the critics to put into clear language exactly what wrongdoing they presume has taken place when anybody talks with the Russian ambassador. Why should any of us be prevented from talking to any citizen of Russia if we choose to do so? It’s not like North Korea or even Iran and I doubt that anyone would be under a microscope for chatting with the Iranian delegation to the United Nations, for example.

This is one of those lawfare pursuits where mountains of evidence take the place of actual torts, I’ve seen this in my own experience and the game is simply to have a lot of evidence and try to create a general stink about something vague “in the background” without actually saying what that is. In this case, it could be nothing more than somebody’s efforts to break the ice in what they thought might become a strategic partnership, if for example a person like Flynn saw a benefit from working with Russia in the Middle East.

And behind all of this speculation, what’s the answer to the question of what Obama meant when he told Medvedev in his first term that he could “do more in (his) second term” — like what could he do? What did he do?

From the end of the article:

************************************************EXCERP****************************************

The irony here is just too much. The NY Times accused President Bush of spying on Americans in 2003 and were proven wrong. Yet here in 2016, we may have President Obama doing exactly that and the evidence for it provided by the very same NY Times.

What I have presented here is also reflected by Andrew McCarthy in a recent post that is well worth the read.

Agreed, probably back to when she tweeted that “computer scientist” had informed her that Russia hacked Podesta’s emails. I think that was around the time that Bill met with the DOJ.

“Elisabeth Bumiller, the bureau chief, said the January story was referring to information picked up from wiretaps and other intelligence collected overseas, a process that requires no warrants.”

Actually, what she was referring to is a lot more devious and has been going on since Harry Truman.

Were they using British M16 as proxy to monitor Trump Towers, Trump and his people without a warrant?

No, It would have been GCHQ.

"foreign sourced"

Serious question... What determines "foreign sourced"? Is the Russian Embassy in D.C. considered "foreign"? Is a Russian Ambassador sitting on a bench in a park in Washington D.C. chatting on his cell phone to an American citizen in New York City considered "foreign sourced"?

I'd bet that's correct.

Remember the first stories about FISA warrants were circulated by British MP Louise Mensch in a HeatStreet story on Nov 7:

Two separate sources with links to the counter-intelligence community have confirmed to Heat Street that the FBI sought, and was granted, a FISA court warrant in October, giving counter-intelligence permission to examine the activities of ‘U.S. persons’ in Donald Trump’s campaign with ties to Russia.

This story may have been a planted smokescreen to push the Trump-Russian collusion narrative while at the same time pointing away from GCHQ as the source by disinfo referring to FISA warrants.

Obama the Alinksyite loves using cutouts to do his dirty work and he probably did his 'wiretapping' through GCHQ intercepts of Trump communications.

Looks like it's not going to be enough to root out the treasonous deep state in the US, but also in linked foreign intel services.

So did 0 have a foreign govt spy on Pres. Trump and then give the info to him (0) ? "Elisabeth Bumiller, the NY Slimes bureau chief, said the January story was referring to information picked up from wiretaps and other intelligence collected overseas, a process that requires no warrants."

"This has been basically going on since Truman got rid of the OSS and formed the CIA and NSA. Part of their charters was not to spy on or monitor Americans."

So, we monitored Brits, Aussies, Kiwis and Canutes and they monitored our citizens to get around those bans re not monitoring your own citizens. America and the 4 countries mentioned above, formed the 5 Eyes.

So here is how this could have gone down. Obama asks Clapper privately to monitor TrumpTower and Trump. Or Obama asked Lynch to ask Clapper to monitor TrumpTower and Trump.

Then, Clapper could have asked Canada, the UK, Australia or New Zealand to spy on Trump and any American or Americans without ordering it to be done by the NSA or FBI. Leaving Obama able to say, “I didn’t order the spying on Trump Tower, or as Nixon said decades ago, “I am not a crook!”

This has been going on for decades starting with #1 through #3 below:

1. Project 5 eyes

2. Project Echelon

3. Project Prism

#1 and #2 go back to the early days after President Truman got rid of the OSS and established the CIA and the NSA.

As noted, neither agency, CIA/NSA were supposed to spy or monitor American citizens as per their charters.

With 5 eyes, we would/could spy on the UK/Brits, Australians, Kiwis and Canadians and let the mother countries know when they might have problems. Then, they would monitor American citizens like Trump and his people for us and give us the data on those American Citizens.

Supposedly the countries mentioned above can’t spy on their own people. Our NSA/CIA/? Could do that for our 5 EYE buddies and report back to the mother country if there was a problem with their citizens.

Echelon came about a little later. With the 5 eyes lateral spying agreement, Echelon became solidified and very functional for decades. We monitored their citizens, and they monitored our citizens like candidate Trump and his people.

Prism supposedly replaced 5 eyes and Echelon, but the 5 Eyes/Echelon concept was/is still there.

So Obama would not had to ask NSA/FBI to spy on Trump. He could have had Clapper ask his counterpart in Canada or any of the 5 Eye countries to monitor Trump Towers and listen in to what was said.

The FBI may have put bugs in or set up electronic interceptions at Trump Towers for their Canadian intel counterparts to monitor all verbal and digital transmission to and from Trump Tower in October of last year until this year up to Trump becoming President. There is minimal need for bugs with todauy's state of electronic monitoring from afar.

So did Canada/GB/ monitor Trump and his people in Trump Towers, in NYC, and then report back to Obama, NSA, FBI and ?. If so, Obama could deny that he ordered the spying?

Obama is playing a game by saying he didn’t order the FBI?NSA to spy on candidate Trump and his people. Obama probably had Clapper or ? ask his Canadian counterparts to spy on Trump and his people. Or he had Lynch ask Clapper, then Clapper asked one of the 5 Eye countries to monitor Trump Tower, Trump and his people.

Have fun with this data! Don’t try searching for this late at night to avoid getting insomnia.

Remember Clapper is probably somehow involved and is a first class liar.
