How Angry Will You Be If The Republicans In Congress Do Not Repeal Obamacare?
Econmic Collapse ^ | 02/23/17 | Michael Snyder

Posted on 02/24/2017 5:33:55 AM PST by Enlightened1

Top Republicans are now publicly saying that Obamacare will never be fully repealed. In fact, many Republicans in Congress are already using the term “repair” instead of “repeal” to describe what is going to happen to Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law. Without a doubt, the Republicans in Congress are eventually going to do something, but strategists in both parties are now suggesting that most of the key elements of Obamacare are going to remain once everything is all said and done. It will be put into a more “conservative” package, but it will still be Obamacare.

On Thursday, former House Speaker John Boehner made headlines all over the country when he said that a complete repeal of Obamacare is “not what’s going to happen”. Instead, Boehner said that Republicans are going to “fix Obamacare” and that they will “put a more conservative box around it” in order to keep their constituents happy.

Of course this isn’t what we voted for. For years, Republican politicians all across the country have been promising that Obamacare would be repealed once they got control of Congress, but now Boehner is telling us that all of that was just “happy talk”…

When the Republicans finally get around to doing something, they will inevitably declare it to be a great victory, but will it actually be that much different from what we have now?

Yes, the IRS penalty for not having health insurance will probably go. But there will still be coverage for children up to the age of 26, there will still be mandatory coverage for preexisting conditions, there will still be mandatory coverage for maternity expenses, there will still be some form of Medicaid expansion and there will still be subsidies for the poor.

Social Security is NOT a "charity". It's not welfare or a give-way program. It is actually an entitlement. The other one is VA benefits for veterans.

Working people pay into SS all their careers and are just getting back their own money after the government takes their cut. Veterans earn theirs by serving their country in the military.

But SS is not a government-funded freebie.

Very!

President Trump needs to keep his promise. If Congress betrays the American people, President Trump needs to make sure there are 300 million Obamacare waivers.

I am OK with pre-existing conditions, and the age 26 kids thing, the problem is the costs to folks thru mandates and state only exchanges.

Uh -- The Obamacare provisions for pre-existing condition coverage, and covering adult children up to age 26, ARE mandates.

Given John Boehner and Mitch McConnells record of support of Obama for 8 years I respectfully decline to agree with you that Boehner is a conservative.

Now, before you ask, this “support” I refer to took many forms so for brevity’s sake I will name just two:

1. With McConnell’s cowardly support, Boehner acquiesced to marxists democrats for 8 years to forego “regular order” and pass omnibus bills in the middle of the night. This practice is CORRUPTION of the purest sort ergo the two sob’s are not the kind of Conservatives most of us want in office. I personally despise both of these men.

2. They INTENTIONALLY schemed and conspired to not employ Congress’s awesome “power of the purse” during Obama’s reign with the result that Obama was able to steal trillions of taxpayer dollars for his
buddies in the US and around the world.

Well, because I'm a dude? And not married? What do I need maternity expenses for?

Then your insurance company is aware of that and has priced your plan accordingly. Likewise my insurance plan covers prostate problems and Viagra, and since they know that I will require neither one then they have priced my plan accordingly.

They have had years to come up with an alternative.

The house played their dog and pony show, voting and passing repeal after repeal...knowing it was never going any where.

And they were laughing at the people who voted for them the whole time.

Paul Ryan and his cohorts never had any intention on actually doing anything about Obamacare.
And John Boehner said it himself this week, that Obamacare wasn't going to be repealed.
Little paulie is Boehner's and Romney's (daddy of Massachusetts healthcare plans) cohort.

And little paulie Boehner should put his better way plan where the sun doesn't shine.

I don’t see Ryno repealing Ocare. They will likely try to “fix” it which means leaving a huge expansion of Medicaid in place.

The Trump administration has apparently already taken the first step, with the announcement a couple of weeks ago that the IRS would not be requiring tax returns to be submitted with the Obamacare form that attests to a taxpayer's health insurance coverage.

The key here is to turn Medicaid into such low-grade insurance coverage that only the truly destitute would want to deal with it.

Cover infectious diseases plus accidental trauma. Period.

Remove hospital mandates to treat everyone who walks into the ER, and remove any civil liability from chasing out people with truly non-emergency issues over inability to pay.

For employers, remove all federal mandates regarding what they are required to cover. If an employer wants to keep coverage for kids up to 26 as part of the benefits package, then fine.

I will say it again, OBAMACARE WILL NEVER BE REPEALED in any way, shape or fashion.

There is ONLY ONE WAY to make it happen:

Executive Order
1. There shall be NO funds drawn from the treasury to pay for Health Insurance for ANY Federal Employee except Members of the Armed Services.

2. ALL Federal Employees except members of the US Armed Services, SHALL purchase their own personal and Family Health Insurance from the Affordable Care Exchange in the state they legally reside.

Sign these 2 orders and it will be FULLY REPEALED in Less than 30 days.

NOT UNTIL, Anyone want to make a BET???

There is a distinction in the way SS is managed financially, but I don’t see retirement as a right or entitlement. Regardless of the semantics, SS is still a government social program run off tax dollars. It’s just that those tax dollars have a distinct name on your paycheck and is not budgeted from a general fund.

Were it truly an investment pool, like it was sold to the public as, you would be able to pass benefits to your estate, but you are not.

I see VA, etc. as payment for service. I’d only consider it an entitlement if service were mandatory (e.g. for draftees). I have always been astonished how poorly vets are treated, even in the days of the revolution. As much as I want government spending to drop drastically, spending on vets is one of the very few areas I would like to see spending increase dramatically.

IF the RINOs in Congress have NOT received the message from the American people by now, they must be removed.

McConnell—Ryan & others need to get their heads on straight.

Obamacare is a disaster. People are forced to buy coverage for things they will never use, such as pregnancy costs for someone like me—who is 77 years old & have already had a hysterectomy. The hospitals e shutting down & many medical people are retiring early because hey cannot live on the reimbursements that Obamacare gives. My own chiropractor no longer takes any Medicare patients. I pay cash.

Illegals are drowning the system & the taxpayers are tired of it all.

The expense of trying to keep up with all the billing requirements is putting small medical offices out of business.

Since this would fulfill my expectations for them, not so much. Sigh. I wish we could count on Pres. Trump to hit them with a cattle prod, but with his daughter/First Lady in absentia Ivanka “Single Payer System” Trump pulling strings behind the scnes, I am not holding my breath.
