How Angry Will You Be If The Republicans In Congress Do Not Repeal Obamacare?
Econmic Collapse ^ | 02/23/17 | Michael Snyder

Top Republicans are now publicly saying that Obamacare will never be fully repealed. In fact, many Republicans in Congress are already using the term “repair” instead of “repeal” to describe what is going to happen to Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law. Without a doubt, the Republicans in Congress are eventually going to do something, but strategists in both parties are now suggesting that most of the key elements of Obamacare are going to remain once everything is all said and done. It will be put into a more “conservative” package, but it will still be Obamacare.

On Thursday, former House Speaker John Boehner made headlines all over the country when he said that a complete repeal of Obamacare is “not what’s going to happen”. Instead, Boehner said that Republicans are going to “fix Obamacare” and that they will “put a more conservative box around it” in order to keep their constituents happy.

Of course this isn’t what we voted for. For years, Republican politicians all across the country have been promising that Obamacare would be repealed once they got control of Congress, but now Boehner is telling us that all of that was just “happy talk”…

When the Republicans finally get around to doing something, they will inevitably declare it to be a great victory, but will it actually be that much different from what we have now?

Yes, the IRS penalty for not having health insurance will probably go. But there will still be coverage for children up to the age of 26, there will still be mandatory coverage for preexisting conditions, there will still be mandatory coverage for maternity expenses, there will still be some form of Medicaid expansion and there will still be subsidies for the poor.

No. The response is anger. We've been strongly disappointed for 20 years, and where has it gotten us?

No anger toward Trump as long as he does as much as he can with executive orders. Will be pissed (as always) against RINOS, who should be primaried (if possible) if they go against Obamacare. Also, Trump should use the bully pulpit ans summon reluctant pubbies to the WH for a sit down and dressing down.

Failure to completely repeal Obamacare will be a complete failure of Trump’s presidency.

The elitists know this.

If any part of the ACA remains, it will eventually be restored completely, and most likely strengthened. It will become the cornerstone of converting this nation to socialism.

Every single person in Washington who supports this monstrosity including Judges needs to be removed from office ASAP.

Trump needs to understand what he is up against and what must be done to stop it... even if it costs him re-election.

Somebody was quoted in the past few days saying the Republicans will repeal Obamacare this year or in 40 years because that is how long they will wander in the wilderness if they don’t repeal it this year. That is probably optimistic. Repeal or die.

“If they fail in their performance on their duty, they will not be re-elected...”

***************

But most of them will. The base will keep returning the same old people back to office despite continually being stabbed in the back by these conniving liars.

We don’t have two parties. We have one: the uniparty.

*************

That my FRiend is the reality of politics in DC. There is only one party.

Trump has exposed the GOPe for its failures and duplicity so they are trying to undermine him at every turn. The GOPe is more of a threat to Trump than the Dems are.

The entire concept of free insurance AKA social insurance/medicine of any kind regardless of what you call it is always going to screw those who pay for it as no private insurer would provide coverage to America’s legions of obese people. Look in the mirror or around you and ask yourself would you insure that person? That is individual insurance. I could not insure a 5’ 3” 28 year female in 1980 as she refused to get under 210 pounds two times. I tried to work with her for two months as she was 218-220. She failed the first and last medical weight test at the DR’s office. Mutual of Omaha would not touch her. Yet I got those with cancer who had gone 5 years without cancer coverage. What few know is that those with diabetes or other conditions could get coverage for everything else. Why do people who have a serious preexisting condition like diabetes expect to get that covered? It is like a rancher with 10,000 head of cattle fenced in. One gets out and is lost as the fence breaks in one place. Does he chase the one steer or does he protect the other 9,999. I say protect the 9,999. Insurance rates are high because we are paying for those who are foreign students, illegals of every nationality, plus a country full of obesity. Look at the nurses in hospitals. I did not notice this terrible national obesity epidemic before Obama. Get rid of Obamacare and go back to private insurers. Only let them provide coverage in all states without giving kickbacks to state Insurance commissioners and governors like Clinton was in Arkansas. He got 10% kickback from the company I worked foe as state manager in a neighboring state.

Well, because I'm a dude? And not married? What do I need maternity expenses for?

That's easy enough. For an individual plan, the policy holder should be able to eliminate coverage for any medical procedure whatsoever.

I’ve already written off the RINO-controlled Congress as traitors for not (even suggesting) impeaching Traitorobama. How much lower can such scum go?!?

Republicans will lose congress in 2018 if they don’t repeal Obamacare.

That’s just a fact.

I agree with you. Even if it was repealed the price o insurance will not go down. The only way to reduce prices is to eliminate health care coverage as it is and replace it with buyer control. Too many jobs and professions rely on the system the way it exists and too many people are afraid to take matters into their own hands. They want someone else to make their decisions.

It should be easy to repeal the worst aspects of the ACA -- mainly because the stupid thing is collapsing on its own before our very eyes.

Even if the GOP does nothing, I suspect most people will either have no coverage or will be on Medicaid within 1-2 years anyway. The ACA basically mandates insurance coverage that nobody is even going to want to SELL anymore.

I disagree with that. The major flaw with Obamacare is that it screws younger/healthier people for the benefit of older people who have far more medical costs.

Go back over the last few election cycles and ask yourself two questions:

1. Which age/demographic groups voted for Democrats?

2. Which age/demographic groups voted for Republicans?

When you answer those two questions, you'll discover why the Republicans are more likely to lose Congress in 2018 if they DO repeal Obamacare.

It's the same reason why the original Obamacare screwed seniors by cutting $500 billion out of Medicare over ten years, and Republicans successfully won control of Congress in 2010 by promising to restore those cuts.

I am OK with pre-existing conditions, and the age 26 kids thing, the problem is the costs to folks thru mandates and state only exchanges.

So people will be happy if they get the rates down and from a PR perspective, rename it to something besides Obamacare

The problem with entitlement programs is putting Jeanie back in the bottle and this one is no different.

Repeal of Obamacare was THE battle cry that gave them both houses and the White House. We should expect nothing less. I would act to support any primary opposition to any turncoat RINO. Cowards.
