Were you happy to see the presidential election conclude on November 8th only to be disappointed in the escalation of hostility after the election? America has always taken pride in its ability to have a peaceful transition of power. Are we losing that ability? And if so, why? Perhaps it is because we are being conditioned and trained to believe our system is a pure democracy, so we are behaving as if it were true.
Some democratic principles are an important part of our Republic and must be preserved if we are to maintain a balanced, free government. But history has proven the road to mass democracy will lead to turmoil, contention, anarchy and will necessarily result in a tyrannical oligarchy that will be difficult to reverse.
George Washington described a human struggle with government, wherein there is a natural and necessary progression, from the extreme of anarchy to the extreme of Tyranny. (Circular to the States, 8 June 1783) Americas Framers sought to create a type of government in which the extremes of tyranny and anarchy might be eliminated. Thomas Jefferson hoped that the pendulum will rest finally in the middle. (Letter to William Smith, 2 February 1788)
The Framers analyzed history to identify what forms of government would best promote liberty rather than tyranny or anarchy. They discovered no single type. They did, however, discover that parts of one added to pieces of another provided a solution and from these created a unique, mixed form of government with separation of powers and checks and balances.
Democracy represents two wolves and a sheep voting on what is for dinner. Great for the wolves, bad for the sheep. It could be said that our Republic is two wolves and a sheep voting on whats for dinner, with a law that...

If that means we’re getting closer to the Free Constitutional Republic America was always meant to be, then I’m all for it.
A few freak show women in pink knit hats and the limp waisted media are hardly a threat.
Me too.
No, it means pure majority rule. And it is a bad thing. A thing the framers of our Constitution warned us about, and tried their hardest to keep weeded from the system.
What it means is, California, Illinois, and New York will rule the entire nation.
Some democratic principles are an important part of our Republic and must be preserved if we are to maintain a balanced, free government. But history has proven the road to mass democracy will lead to turmoil, contention, anarchy and will necessarily result in a tyrannical oligarchy that will be difficult to reverse.
One of the first orders of business by a member of the House of Representatives should be to introduce a law making it mandatory for all (especially our politicians) to be trained on our US Republic. . . “and to the Republic for which it stands”
Not sure why this is saying we’re moving closer to “mass democracy” other than the fact that we need to get the 70% to 80% unconstitutional portion of federal government dismantled and get the feds back into their constitutional cage.
A constitutional federal government does not threaten our Free Constitutional Republic. The mostly unconstitutional feds now are our greatest threat.
One way of the other, the Constitution MUST be reinstated as the Supreme Law of the Land against the feds.
I don’t think they’re going to get around the constitutional requirement for a decentralized electoral vote.
Agreed. But the article is saying there are a lot of people who want to do away with the Electoral College, the balance of State power in the Senate, and move towards a pure democracy ruled by majority vote alone.
Any lib you heard screaming that the Electoral College is unfair, or that it is unfair that Vermont or New Hampshire has more power than California, is considering this move.
They no longer believe in a Union of 50 Sovereign States, but one national majority.
“Hillary won the popular vote.”
Yeah, but she didn’t win the Electoral vote.
Well .. the schools do not teach our children about the Electoral College and why our founders wrote it the way they did.
If the LEFTIST TEACHERS won’t teach it .. they gain even more control over our children.
We must stop this assault against our children.
“A few freak show women in pink knit hats”
Dilbert author Scott Adams had many insightful words on the pink hats: http://blog.dilbert.com/post/156315793671/battle-of-the-hats
Our response is to point out that it doesn’t matter what the Lying Leftist media and DNC thinks, the electoral system can ONLY be abolished by a Constitutional Amendment and that will never happen. One reason it won’t happen is a constitutional amendment would involve debate and the Left ALWAYS loses the debate in the forum of ideas. That is why the Left are tyrants and dictators. They don’t want discussion because they always lose. One beauty of the Constitution is to change it you HAVE to have a discussion and debate.
I don’t think we’re that close. The troublemakers always get the press and the leftist troublemakers get 10x the press and sympathy of the media to boot. Rank and file Americans are saying, “wow Trump is a hard worker” right now.
Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
It’s not an election. It is 52 elections run by the states.
They just happen to be on the same day. Coincidence.
The past 8 years have been a tyranny of the majority. The liberals in the big cities have been lording over the rest of the country and finally pissed off enough of flyover country to get voted out of office, something that would never happen in a true democracy.
No.
It means we’re getting close to mob rule.
Well stated. I take comfort in that.
It’s interesting that you posted that link. Scott Adams wrote in the blog post:
“Compare that to the Million Woman March. They chose pink because I assume it is a bit of an ironic color for women who are fighting for their rights. Women are owning pink to rob it of its power to brand them as the so-called weaker sex. At least thats why I assume they picked pink.”
I argue that, after taking time to view the photos and listen to these women talk that the reason they picked pink is becasue it is the color of their vagina’s, and not some deep political statement.
