Once all the US libtards who claim they’re moving
north get there the Manatobums will be changing their
tune.

I was thinking it was Americans who would stay out of Canukland. Between disaffected Hillary voters relocating there and the insanity of Trudeau, I sure don't want to spend any time or money north of the border.

I was born in Saskatchewan and my province always had a low opinion of Manitobans. Nothing to worry about. They have always been idiots.

Look at the long slide of the Canadian dollar versus the U.S. dollar over the last 5 years. That rather than political whining probably explains part of the reason some Canadians do not want to travel to the U.S. It costs them too much because of the declining value of their own currency.

When it comes to media, Canadian newspapers and tv actually are a pretty close tie to the US alphabet networks for being absolutely awful. So…. we’ve all just gone through the pre-election rounds of the media being out and out endorsers and advocates of Clinton and making up crap about Trump that the electorate obviously paid scant attention to. Then there were the breathless prognosis of whatever as they covered every stupid idea of the ways that they thought Trump could be stopped from taking office. Now that none of that has worked, they will just make life as miserable as possible for Trump… and of course continue to make stuff up as they go that represents proof positive that the results of the election were wrong and people either made a mistake or didn’t intend to vote the way they did.

Today I picked this article up in the Toronto Star (or as it is frequently called, The Red Star)….. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2016/12/30/us-college-bound-students-look-to-canada-after-trumps-win.html Here’s the lead in to the article…. For some university- and college-bound students distressed by the election of Donald Trump, Canada is calling….. Applications to the University of Toronto from American students have jumped 70 per cent compared with this time last year….. As one reads the article, was there any discussion about other factors that might have caused an increase in applicants? Was there any evidence to support the contention of the main point to the article that there even was an increase? What about the fact that the Canadian dollar has dropped a bunch and currently sits at $0.72….. and is still on a downwards slide? Could that have had anything to do with it? Nope…. Nary a word about that and nothing explored beyond the conclusion that had already been drawn. It’s all Trump’s fault!

Now that the media has failed with all of their objectives/endeavours and Trump WILL BE the next President, expect nothing but a steady diet about how bad things are under Trump, the measures that people are taking to avoid the destituteness and misery that Trump has wrought to their lives etc. …. and bogus stories like the Manitoba shopping one, or this one about university applicants at Canadian universities. It’s all 100% bunk.

I just spent two weeks in Florida with one of them at the annual power conference. I was so impressed with the optimism of all the people that I talked to. It was the most contagious optimism I’ve seen in decades. I know one thing for sure, just seeing that optimism is going to be huge driving force for investment…..and that was the very basic message that I took back to my company as to where are investments will be made.

On the other hand, lots of Canadians like Trump and are hoping to find a similar candidate in the ongoing leadership race to replace retired Stephen Harper.

Nobody stands out as a Trump clone, you can get some of the realism from three or four out of seventeen candidates (sound familiar?) and there’s a prominent businessman lurking in the wings but he seems a bit more inclined to political correctness than Trump.

I am sure many Canadians will continue to visit the U.S. and enjoy their time “south of the border.” Please don’t assume if you see a Canadian licence plate that you’re dealing with a liberal idiot. About one third of us are conservatives. And that third are more likely to cross the border than most. Even before Trump, there were liberal Canadians who didn’t very often, if ever, cross the border and who feared everyday life in border communities that are frankly just about equivalent to Canadian towns on the other side of the border. You have to go a long way south before you really notice a different culture, the border states seem fairly liberal and very dependent on Canadian shoppers in many cases.

I would move to Utah or Nevada if I could afford it, but as a retiree I would lose most of my Canadian pension so my limit is about two months out of the year. Love the scenery, the people, and the weather.

Pretty hard to take this article about Canada-US seriously when it comes from some India online publication.... and especially when it closes with this “Only 28 percent of people surveyed in Manitoba said they would vote for the Republican candidate Hillary Clinton.” Really?

The odds that less Canadians will travel south is about exactly the same as the odds of all those ‘celebrities’ moving to Canada if Trump wins.....

I can’t believe the MSM has the audacity to cite another ‘poll’, after nearly every polling outfit in existence was outed pulling numbers out of their asses in the last election.

Utter BS. I’m seeing just as many of them on the roads today as at other times, maybe more.

I live in Upstate NY, about 85 miles from Canadian Border. Cars with Canadian license plates are a common sight on Route 81, and on local roads in my area. I saw several today.

Fake News.

I have a Canadian friend who lives in Vancouver who was obsessed with anti-Trump memes and jokes and the like. What’s it to these people? Can’t they see through the pitiful man behind the curtain named Obama?

Frankly, no, they can’t.

They’re so enamored to Free Stuff from socialist sugar daddies that they gave their own country away a long time ago.

As someone who used to live in FLA. and has personally witnessed the Canada snowbirds cutting across four lanes on I-275 (right in front of me) to hit their exit; my eternal thanks.
