Hubby is NF born and raised, but has spent the last 56 yrs living elsewhere, joined the Navy at 18. He goes back to visit his 90 yr old brother and younger sister they live in small towns outside the area. His aunt before her death lived in Canada about 30 miles over the border. Which is why I know about the endless lines coming from Canada to the US every weekend trying to beat their high prices.
If you want to see the pretty side of NF you go to Canada, it’s plain Jane on the US side. But be prepared to pay a LOT more.
I lived in Saint Martin and Biloxi several times since 2001 and was in Katrina.
Then you know my area - was in Ocean Springs (the county) until Gautier annexed us. Live south of Old Spanish Trail a mile or so East of where 57 dead ends (or used to before they put in the new high school and added some roads) at Old Spanish Trail. Katrina put 13” in the house and we we some of the more fortunate.
I dated a teacher who worked at Ocean Springs High School prior to Katrina. Back then I was doing mortgages.
Plus they don’t tip.
I bartended for a long while in Grand Forks, N.D., just south of Winnipeg.
Buncha loud rude ill-dressed hosers who can’t hold their drink.
Plus they don’t tip.
Teachers are different here than in many States - more prone to be patriotic, and not afraid to acknowledge God?Christ....
