MERRY CHRISTMAS! AMERICA WAS GIVEN AN EARLY GIFT THIS YEAR!!!
Get an Amazon Fire Stick, watch a YouTube video on how to easily “jailbreak” it and you will never need cable again.
I think my first memory is really maybe Lassie...
I’m sorry, but that question is above my pay grade. By the time it was learned how to program our VCR, it had already been replaced by more sophisticated equipment.
Perhaps others here can share their expertise with you.
Thanks. I will look into it.
Yes
If you have a ping list, please put me on the list.
We are in the process of going to Roku/Sling and will be cutting our Comcast tv cable soon.
We have Howdy Doody on OTA regular TV It is on either the HOT or RETRO channel locally.
As for Lassie, that, too, on OTA local station.
However...Roku does give us access to Rin Tin Tin
-—What all can you do with Roku?-—
There are hundreds of free channels to watch movies, sitcoms from the past, etc. Netflix, Sling, Amazon Prime are other options you can pay to watch.
I could not watch Pro Football games free so I had to pay to watch those.
Sorry, Grandpa, no ping list, Just put it out there when anything new is found using ROKU in the title.
Suggest you travel over to the Roku website once a month and look at their blog for any new items available. If you have a Roku, then they should have your current email address - they send me updates frequently about anything new and other pertinent information.
Kodi is the cord cutter tool of choice and will run on any number of devices. Amazon FireTV is probably the cheapest and simplest.

Then we got the Roku. I don't miss TV at all. We got Netflix, Hulu and subscribed to OAN. Honestly, I barely watch any of that either.
My daughter is a big Netflix watcher. My son (15) never, ever even got in the habit of TV. He doesn't even "get" that people ever did. He watches a bunch of people that cater to his interests on Youtube. Cars, motorcycles, stunts, humor, etc.
Thanks, I get the email from Roku!
Another thought, there is a lot of regualr content on youtube as well. Last time we went away for about 5 days, he came back and had something like 20 hours of youtube to catch up on. LOL
Thank you.
Our Direct TV satellite was notorious for that ...losing signal. In fact even our larger satellite dish lost signals as well.
Heavy rain, snow both contributed to our dissatisfaction with Direct TV. That and their increasing monthly rates even though so many of their offered channels were seldom watched.
If a channel is from “The Movie Club”, it’s more or less useless. Please, Roku users, contact Comet and beg them to come on.
Play Station Vue is an app for streaming devices, including Roku. PS VUE streams LIVE TV. Plans are $30 to $65. DVR service included, no need for DVR equipment. No contract. One week free trial offered. Over 40 channels on lowest priced plan.

Use the Spectrum or Cox cable apps.
I have a Roku 4, Roku 3, and streaming stick. All three work perfectly with no problems. It may just be the luck of the draw. I have heard that occasionally people have purchased some buggy ones, but for the most part they work extremely well. I also have 150mbps internet.
Okay....I had an ancient Roku, maybe first generation!, that I never really liked using/watching....too much buffering, etc.
Will the latest version let me watch Fox Business via an app? Is it a good quality stream?
We’re trying to get satellite at my in-laws remote ranch house and I’m wondering if Roku might be a better option. They have a pretty decent wifi. FIL likes to watch FoxBix, college football, some pro-football and classic movies and westerns. Will this Roku fill the bill?
We’re also considering Apple TV for them, as an alternative.
TIA!!!
