Beware the Riptide Just Under the Surface

undercurrent

I’m beginning to sense an undercurrent in the country. Something running beneath the surface, gathering energy and strength.

Not long ago it was simply a voice in the wilderness.

jury acquits oregan standoff leaders

And then, there it was, sticking it’s head out of the water: Jury Acquits Leaders Of Oregon Standoff On All Federal Charges. A victory as unexpected as it was astounding. An Oregon (PORTLAND!) jury acquitted the leaders of the armed standoff at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge of all Federal charges. It was so surprising that even the defense attorneys couldn’t believe it.

"It's stunning. It's a stunning victory for the defense," said Robert Salisbury, attorney for defendant Jeff Banta. "I'm speechless."

Could it be that even ordinary, progressive Americans are getting tired of that boot on their face?

Could it be that somewhere far below the media-manufactured smooth surface

is a turbulence that runs so deep and so strong that it is likely to break out with great force some day?

riptide costa rica

I suggest we all light one candle and pray that day is November 8th.

light-a-candle…and deliver us from evil, amen

They get acquitted, and then the judge says they can’t get released pending a hold by Nevada - then the Marshalls assault the attorney demanding to see the paperwork that prevents the release of his acquitted clients.

As trial ends, surreal scene leaves defense lawyer stunned with Taser, tackled by U.S. Marshals

It was a victory for every Patriot in the United States of America.

However, it left the Federal Government goons in a white hot rage. Which they partially vented upon a defense attorney.

My son-in-law got a great job in Portland and he and my decided to move all the way across this country and take my precious three grand daughters with them.

Visions of crazy freaking liberals, those “tiny house” people there and the general liberal impression I had about Portland. Frankly, I was crestfallen and thought I’d never see them again. I’ve been feeling really down about it all.

With THIS recent verdict, I am heartened - maybe there is still hope for this country. Maybe people are finally seeing what this Federal Government has become and are doing something about it.

then the Marshalls assault the attorney demanding to see the paperwork that prevents the release of his acquitted clients

The down side of this is that the US Marshals (a group I used to hold in high esteem) were obligated to show paperwork if they wanted an innocent man detained. For them to fail to do so was another step toward the "fundamentally transformed America" that Obama has spent his life creating. The up side is that it will alienate potential jurors in the next show trial. The odds of a second jury nullification just improved.

Whether or not these Americans are guilty of the technical charges they will be facing, the government should not have been engaged in stealing their land (or rustling their cattle!). As an extension of the "Fruit of the Poisonous Tree" doctrine, men should not be convicted of resisting lawless actions, even lawlessness from those claiming to act on behalf of the government.

And then the defense attorney was assaulted, tased, and arrested by federal agents for questioning why Mr. Bundy was not released with the not guilty verdict.

I would think that the Judge would have to have a call to order and to invoke the actions of the Marshals.

Here and there we see overt scenes of the Police State. It is not “coming,” it is here, just being introduced in fits and starts.

Even in hard-core liberal land there are whispers that maybe .gov has gotten a little bit too big and corrupt.

Did you have ‘The Talk’ with him? Portland has a black population of about 6%, so it should be easy to avoid certain zip codes. You might find this useful => http://zipwho.com/

Don't worry.

Used to live in Wa state....for 28 years.

Spent lots of time in Oregon too.

I find The Marshals to be engaging in Domestic Terrorism.
