Media may deny it, but NFL boycotters are Trump supporters voting with their remotes
The Coach's Team ^ | 10/21/16 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

The disrespect for America shown by some NFL players has given Donald Trump supporters a chance to “vote early” and they are taking it.

Another NFL week has passed and the boycott of viewers has actually picked up steam. By one account, available data shows a 30% drop in viewership for Monday night’s game between “Somebody and Who cares?”

Naturally the leftists in sports writing are telling us it’s the bland product or the movement to appliances they can’t track that are causing the steep drop in viewership and “blah blah blah;” anything but the truth. Apparently, sports writers missed the fact that Forty Niners’ quarterback and Black Lives Matter fan Colin Kaepernick was roundly booed by Buffalo fans both before and during the game last Sunday.

To keep up their assignment from the Ministry of Information they are forced to dance around the truth; and the truth in their cell is tougher to deny.

Since they won’t ask them, here are the answers to the questions they should be asking.

Who watches NFL games; who are Trump’s supporters and how to they lineup?

NFL games are watched by fans who are 70% over 35; 78% White and 59% make less than $75,000 a year.

Men are slightly over-represented in the NFL fans demographics when compared to women, with 55% of the total 150 million strong demographic being male.

The annual income of 26% of NFL fans is $40,000 or less.

The 55+ age demographic is the largest percentage of the NFL fans demographics at 37%. Another 34% of NFL fans are in the 35-54 age demographic.

And social media? “The NBA finals averages 26.7 million tweets over the course of a 4-7 game final. In comparison, the Super Bowl in just one game generates over 26 million tweets...

The problem with the NFL, at least to me, is that in the modern game there doesn’t seem to be a way for the cool players to self police the jerk players. So you get fruity celebration dances and chest slapping displays over routine plays. The NFL had to come up with lame rules to discourage the worst of that garbage behavior because each game is so important and the modern penalty system and replay seemingly doesn’t allow cool players self police the jerks. And in the case of NFL, the sport only became more popular after the swishy celebrations and hulk poses became the norm. Which makes sense if you look around at popular culture.

It takes tremendous amount of sacrifice, skill and athletic ability to play pro football, but some aspects of it are pretty far from manly, in my opinion.

My husband (in his mid fifties) is a Trump supporter and has moved into the “what is the NFL”? camp and has not watched a single game.

This is big deal for him and not done lightly as he played college football and has always watched since he could understand the game.

The theory that the men who are boycotting the NFL are the same men who will vote Trump makes perfect sense. Women too, of course, but for the moment let’s just talk about the men because I am pretty sure most normal alpha men can’t stand Hillary, my husband included, although to make it clear, it is not the “anti-woman-president-misogynist” false talking point from the liberals that is causing him to vote Trump; it is the issues. He would vote for a woman who was correct on the issues.

People who are voting Trump are disgusted with the anti-American crap the NFL is allowing.

I have not watched a single game since the NFL became anti-American.

“People who are voting Trump are disgusted with the anti-American crap the NFL is allowing.”

And the universities-—that makes me even angrier.

Same here. My wife and l are in the largest demographic. In past years we have watched religiously, throughout the week. We’ve taken a knee this year, so to speak.

I only watch the RedZone channel...all the games, none of the commercials.

Crap all over your fan base and then be surprised when viewer numbers decline?

I suspect very few of them actually attend games. This is why TV ratings are so important to the NFL.

I had been a Green Bay Packers fan since I was 6 when they won the World Championship, pre-Superbowl.
I haven’t watched any games this season.
If they don’t like the nation they are the National Football League of, I can’t support them any longer.

Count me as one.

I used to live and die on Fantasy Football. From 11am Sunday, to midnight Monday, I'd watch the games, the recaps, SportsCenter, and any NFL analysis.

Now? Not so much. Watched my Panthers play on Opening Night Thursday, and not a Thurs, Mon, or Sun Night since. Might turn on the Panthers on Sunday afternoon, including watching them LOSE last week 41-38... but it's not a must-see anymore.

The NFL product just isn't as good. Between incessant commercials, a flag being thrown every other play, and some dammed video replay every 3rd play, the games are boring. To get a political re-education lecture along with it, made the NFL completely optional, in my book.

Wonder how many other people think like me?

The NFL became a billion dollar industry off the backs of 25-50 year old white men and have now decided to turn their backs on them in pursuit of women, trannies and militant black organizations....have fun while it lasts....

I was visiting my father in Florida and he doesn't have cable or watch much football anymore. I usually buy the NFL Redzone channel so I can follow my team. They don't get on TV over in Patriots land. I decided to check my scores on the internet after they started with their stupidity.

Kind of man’s sport compared to NBA and MLB I would think

A "man's sport"? Maybe when they are actually playing but 90% of the game is watching people stand around yakking like Millennials in a coffee shop.

10 seconds of playing, 10 minutes of yakking.

At least in basketball and baseball play is actually happening at least 50% of the time.

Of course none of them compare to the only REAL sport, Hockey!

The Feds shut down FanDuel in TX so I lost any reason to watch or care about any of the games.

Wait you can’t say in baseball play is happening 50% of the time. The action to inaction ratio in baseball is way worse that football. Heck last night they were even talking about how the Dodgers relief pitcher stands around doing nothing forever and showing his players stretching keeping themselves ready. 30 seconds between pitches and less than 2 seconds in the air is hardly play happening 50% of the time.
