Avoid the gut shot, or you'll gag

When it comes time to field dress your deer, I hope you handle it better than these folks. I don’t want to rag on these hunters. Trust me, that is not the purpose of this post. However, I am sure we all have friends that get a little queasy when it comes time to field dress a kill. Yes, those people are out there, and sometimes the camera is rolling when it happens!

Watch these hunters do everything they can to not vomit while cutting into this deer. Their reactions are classic! See it here.

It’s always amazed me that in nearly every Zombie movie you see there are scenes of zombies chomping on the yards of smaller intestines like they are sausage or something. Amazing.

The reason you don’t want to damage the intestines is to keep what’s inside them from tainting everything else that is edible. Very messy, smelly and unsanitary.

I find that hilarious. I have always found this gag reflex to be quite funny, but then I am probably just being cruel because nothing affects me that way.

What I have found is that the gag thing is largely an inherited reflex. You can work on it and get over it, but some are just more sensitive than others, and it tends to run in families.

I play cruel games on my wife and daughter in law... I know its mean but I just cant help it..

It’s somewhat contagious too. Once one person starts gagging, it can cause others to sympathy gag. Awesome.

A deer disemboweled itself on the fender of my car while it was doing 55 MPH (the car, not the deer). I could tell exactly what its last meals were, it wasn’t pretty, I can tell you.

I was wondering what they expected to find. When you pull the trigger, the fun is over and the works starts. If it’s that hard, don’t hunt and save the animal for me.

Legs are completely stiff, body/head totally straight. This deer has been in rigor overnight, with pretty high temperatures.

You gut shoot a deer with a rifle and don’t recover it for a day in these conditions you’ll damn well learn shot placement. Two days and all it’s good for is yote bait.
