Does anybody really think the police are so stupid they would toss “a throw down, cold piece,” a planted gun, into a crime scene, knowing they are under video surveillance from multiple sources?
And that the police never heard about pocket-lint being caught in a throw-down, “cold piece,” thereby ultimately incriminating the thrower?
That was planted too! It was the first thing the cops did, was put their throw-down ankle holster on him!

More likely, the fingerprints prove that that Scott had held the weapon BEFORE he got out of the car.

And the idea that they would shoot somebody just for kicks and then plant a gun while being video tapped by the assailant’s wife is beyond bizarre.
If you will remember, after serial killer Wayne Williams was convicted, CBS mad a TV movie out of the case and left enough out to make it appear Williams was a poor innocent black man.

Actually, around a week ago, there was police officer in St. Louis that was charged with doing exactly that.
They were probably planted on the gun. /s

Bill Jordan told of an incident while a border patrolman.
A BP agent stopped a drug smuggler crossing the river. The smuggler pulls a gun, fires two shots (.22 revolver)then runs back toward Mexico. He is shot (in the back) and dies, his pistol falling in the river.
The admin is out for blood and this BP agent is put through the ringer. Did the smuggler really have a gun? Why did you shoot him in the back?
One night Bill Jordan goes down to the river, looks over the area of the killing, and while looking in the river, a cheap .22 pistol with two shots fired accidentally falls out of his shirt pocket into the river.
When the inquest is held at the river a magnet is dropped into the water, and several cheap .22 handguns are pulled from the river, all with 2 shots fired.

If the handgun had been wiped down before checking for fingerprints, they can check the magazine and cartridges for fingerprints.
