Recent news cycles seem to have been a bit positive for Colin Powell. They at least brought him to the forefront of public consciousness. He could be a Hillary replacement and probably the best replacement.
Joe Biden -- no Elizabeth Waren -- probably not Kaine promoted -- possibility Bernie Sanders -- Remote possibility
Either way, if Hillary has to drop it means civil war within the Democratic party. It's going to take a light touch to consolidate that and Colin Powell might have it and can neutralize much Trumps platform.
Hillary! must be absolutely LIVID with all this talk about replacing her.
If she gets replaced, after waiting ‘her turn’ for a long eight years, they better silence her somehow because all hell will break lose.

The short answer is an emphatic NO. The Dems wouldn’t accept him since his allegiance has been on both sides of the aisle during his career. And too, he doesn’t possess the requisite vagina.

He’s in the news because Guccifer 2.0 published a pile of emails with some juicy stuff about Powell vs Clinton vis a vis illegal email servers, and the talking heads are trying to soften the blow.
While Powell probably could win on short notice, he doesn’t want the job and Hillary has made clear she’s not leaving the ticket.

On the other hand, I don’t think Hillary would tolerate the idea of another woman. Since her only goal is to be the first woman President, it would be the ultimate insult to give that opportunity to another woman.
