If I pluck a feather from a road kill eagle I commit a felony. I feel a great disconnect here.

If they had asked, I would have told them this was going to happen.

And yet, feral cats kill nearly a billion birds every year in the US alone.
Solar power plants are small potatoes.

Well at least bats are safe from this avian incinerator.
Wind turbines dont shutdown at night and chop up bats as well as birds.

On spec, the plant seems like the very ideal of energy production for the future: three gleaming towers, forty stories in height capturing the energy from the sunlight reflected by five acres of massive mirrors. All told, the plant generates some 390 megawatts of power from its turbine---"--last news I saw on this fiasco, it was only producing 25-50% of anticipated power and California was about to punish it for using too much natural gas in relation to power produced---

I used to fly regularly into Las Vegas.
There are many acres of empty rooftops in town, plus many covered parking lots, plus many parking lots that could be covered.
Perfect win-win opportunity for the residents.
But they had to build this monstrosity instead, to satisfy Obama-Reid.
Where are ABC-CBS-CNN-PBS on this?

15 avian lives extinguished each day. At their peaks of their lives, they soar proudly through the sunny Nevada sky, their highly evolved bird eyes scanning the beautiful desolate terrain...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!
Their lives are extinguished in an instant...
Why aren’t the liberals up in arms about it? Because those poor murdered birds are only so many eggs to be broken in the making of a Gaia-Worshiping Solar Farm Omelette.
