If you can afford the ammo.
I shot one a few weeks back in the original Belgian configuration (not AR).

Feels like a 22.

If you can find the ammo.

I don’t see the big advantage of buying a gun in that caliber. It’s not like 5.56 is a powerhouse, but at least it’s widely available and relatively cheap. I wouldn’t want something less powerful for self-defense. I’ll stick with 7.62x39 myself.

I take it the reviewer doesnt have to buy his own ammo. 5.7x28 whew... Expensivo.

And that alone is the kiss of death. Add to that the "less powerful" phrase, and why not just get a 22LR?

Looks fun to shoot, but I don’t see it for much beyond that.

I’ll stick with AR & AK, which seems to cover the carbine niche for me.

PSA has the ammo on sale for $17.99 right now. Even then 36 cents a round seems a little pricey for something that lightweight.

I have the pistol, and really like it.

What I’d really like to go along with the pistol, is a bolt action rifle. Savage started to make one, then dropped the idea.

Or what would be absolutely perfect for my wants, a slightly scaled up Ruger 10-22 but that uses the pistol mags, in that round.

It's a .22 Magnum!! Hehehe. d;^)

BUT.. I will say that a P90 is my favorite "backup" in Rainbow Six Vegas 2. And even there it has crap penetration.

That's not bad. CTD's bulk 2000 price is $1075, 53¢/rnd.

I would not trade my Springfield Armory M1A National Match (Loaded) for a 5.7. Also an AK for backup.

The ammo is not that bad. Palmetto State Emory has FN 5.7 ammo for 17.99 a box.

Just a little bit of info on this caliber, the Secret Service uses the FN P90 in 5.7 to protect tbe President. The UK guards who guard the Queen of England use the FiveseveN pistol chambered in 5.7 to protect the queen. That speaks volumes about this round.

My next spare upper (when can I afford it) will be in 300 blkout...I would have got an AR in .308 if the budget allowed, but I had to settle for 5.56.

t’s a rifle round fired from a pistol.

It easily defeats any soft body armor up to level IIIA with the right ammunition. (which is legal to buy, possess, and carry)

It basically renders soft body armor obsolete and useless.

It has a range 3-5x what a typical legacy caliber pistol has (depending on skill level)

It hits velocities up to 2600fps from a PISTOL with some ammunition, which creates a rifle like hydro-static shock bubble upon impact with soft tissue.

It holds 20rds of ammunition, or 30rds of ammunition with an extended clip that only protrudes about 1 1/2” from the pistol grip.

It has virtually no recoil whatsoever. Follow up shots are extremely fast, and very accurate.

It’s only competitor at this time is the HK 4.6x30mm, used by the US Navy SEALs in the HK MP7 platform.

.308 is king; I was limited financially and had to settle for 5.56; I’ll upgrade to 300 blk when I’m able

Firing a 27-grain lead-free hollow point at a full, upright 12-ounce beverage can did not produce a complete penetration...

Yeah. Color me skeptical.
