SAN JOSE -- A day after a melee erupted outside a Donald Trump rally, the San Jose police chief and mayor on Friday defended themselves from a national backlash over their handling of the dramatic and at times violent protest.
On radio talk shows and across social media, some called for Mayor Sam Liccardo's resignation because of his comments suggesting that Trump was to blame for igniting violence, while police were criticized for failing to protect Trump supporters from angry protesters throwing punches, water bottles and traffic cones. Some videos showed those attacks and suggested they were unprovoked, but others showed Trump supporters taunting protesters, ripping their Dump Trump signs and throwing the first punches....

We know that. But that is not the narrative that the news media, with the approval of the Republican Party is espousing. And the goons will continue to escalate the violence until a Trump supporter defends himself and injures a goon or a goon injures himself and blames it on a Trump supporter. Them the media goes 24/7 with the stories they have already filed about how the violent and hateful Trump supporters attacked the peaceful protestors.
I really hope some CC folks don’t happen to walk by one of these events while loaded for bear and are attacked. And if this happens, they’ll have every right to unload on these violent criminal attackers.

It sounds like this POS Mayor is giving AMERICAN CITIZENS to start BEATING THE CRAP out of EVERY ILLEGAL ALIEN they see, because they are Provoking Citizens merely by being present in the US ILLEGALLY.

I understand. But it does need to be repeated, that the violent people are going to these Trump rallies. They’re choosing to go to them for the purpose of intimation and violence. The Trump side, which includes kids, the elderly, teens and women, are simply wanting to attend a rally, not go to a brawl where they’ll be physically attacked.
Intimidation too....

Seems like CC’ers need to have many staged outside to protect the attendees when they leave. The police are not doing their jobs so they have no reason to complain. Of course the police would attack the CC’ers.

There needs to be a BIG civil rights lawsuit against the city of San Jose, its mayor, the police chief, and the chief’s subordinates. Last time I looked, southern California was in the U.S.A.

IF they stand down on something like this, God help em down the road. They’re already being knocked off at random by the BLM crowd. The city set it up to have the Trump supporters walk through a gauntlet of protestors. The city deserves a class action suit by everyone at the rally. Period.

SJOD has always allowed cinco de mayo celebrations to get waaaay out of hand.
They do not handle large protests well because they don’t want to hurt anyone. Read the police chief’s comment about not being an occupying force....for a long tome they have not been any kind of force at all
