The Tr(ump)uth and Reconciliation Thread ~ Vanity
GraceG

Posted on 05/03/2016 7:11:39 PM PDT by GraceG

Well, now that Trump is the nominee it is now time to strop burying the hatchet into each others backs and bury the damned thing out in the back 40.

I have always been for Cruz, but to ignore that Trump won the nomination is denying reality. I am glad that Cruz bowed out now instead of dragging us all to convention where the fractures to in Republican party may have developed into full blown fissures and caused our best hope against Hillary to crumble to dust.

I wish Ted the best and hope he continues his hard work in the Senate that many of us here are so proud of and continues to take the hard stands for the people he represents in Texas.

I also wish Donald the best in battling the Liberal media deluge that is about to unleashed upon him. He is about to be hit with BOTH barrels from a liberal media that has been diving it's attention between him and Ted.

I also hope and pray that should the Donald slay the hildebeast that he not fall into the trap that seems to afflict so many people that go to DC and ignore all the promises he made to us all here. Let's pray that that his promise to make "America Great Again" and to do so by securing our borders and to not play second fiddle to other countries becomes a reality.

I will reach out and support Trump and I as a Cruz supporter, I only ask those of you who have so far supported Donald Trump to hold Donald to promises he made all of us. Because this election may very well be our last chance and if it is blown then we can all kiss our freedoms and precious country goodbye.

You may be the only FReeper who hasn’t seen The Outlaw Josie Wales. Chief Dan George is in it as well. He is hilarious.

Watch out when Josie spits Tobacco.

Please tell me you’ve seen Tombstone. Another must see.

Too late. I will hold my nose and vote for Trump because he is NOT Hillary. That’s it. I do not trust him to not turn.

The Trumpites went too far.

Did Donald Trump ever called you low info? Use the occasion of your assault to attack your candidate?

This was a bare knuckled brawl campaign. Both sides dished it out. Don’t buy the nonsense that only Trump “went too far” because that is patently false. Now is the time to accept that and see the primary campaign for what it is: water under the bridge. Now the target is Hillary. Period.

I can respect that.

I just want to set aside my animus that I had toward Cruz and say that I respect him for what he did tonight.

I’m setting aside any bad feelings in me for any of his supporters too.

I’m just walking away from that, and I’m not going to look back.

No, sigh, God, I feel completely exposed.

I don’t know what it is, but for some reason I never really got into westerns, and I feel like an idiot for it.

I guess it’s true what my step dad used to say. I’m a soft city boy.

I’m going to try and find these movies and watch them on your recommendation.

Yep. That primary campaign was a brawl. But Cruz did the correct thing and dropped out rather than kamikaze for Hillary. Given that, I can let bygones be bygones. I’ll forgive Cruz for calling me low-info, a klansman, etc.

Now the battle is joined against the Hildabeast and everything she stands for.

You will never be the same. #;^)

Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer are awesome in Tombstone.
You see all sorts of references on FR from that Movie.

The real test for me is going to be can I forgive Levin, Beck and Limbaugh.

I’m giving them a clean slate tonight. I’m not saying I’m going to go back to listening to them, because I have come to enjoy the peace that is their absence.

I hope they don’t dirty the clean slate. Kinda iffy on those guys.

I think Kurt Russell is THE most underrated actor in the business.

Who else could have pulled off “Soldier?” He had what, six lines in the whole movie?

Levin is still off the rails. I wouldn’t bother for a while.

Trump and his supporters are going to have to work very hard.

***

So in other words, you’re telling us that you hate us more than you love America.

That or you want to sadistically try to force people to beg for your vote.

Forget it.

I want to unify, but I’m not going to waste my time on trying to reach people who refuse. Passive-aggressive whingers can have their pity parties by themselves.

I am going to work to set aside animus against Cruz and his supporters.

Passive-aggressive whiners like some I’ve seen around here, however, will receive the full brunt of my INTERNET RAGE.

I am definitely going to leave Levin off for a good while, at least until it looks like he’s returned to sanity and people say so in his thread.

Beck is off forever. I gave him a clean slate, but that dude is just nuts.

I might, maybe, might, turn on Rush tomorrow. I don’t know.

I looked over on one of them FR refugee sites a bit ago.

There are definitely some folks out there with some raw feelings.

Not much we can do to reach them, I think. They are going to have to come to terms with what’s in them, and I hope they can.

I don’t think I am going to rage at them though. They have enough rage already.

He used to play baseball with my Best Friend’s Brother in the Connie Mack League.

They say he’s a Conservative kind of guy and strong 2nd Amendment Supporter.

Yes, I have heard the same thing about him.

He was apparently a bit at odds with Tarantino over that whole dust up he got himself into with BLM.

I have not seen that movie yet either. Even though I have enjoyed many of Tarantino’s movies, I was kinda pissed with him and didn’t watch it.

It going to take all hands on deck to beat the wicked witch, for sure.
I hope all the Trump supporters will actually volunteer to work for the campaign, because the dem machine will be in overdrive, MSM leading the way. It is going to get ugly, but we can beat ‘em.

I can forgive Cruz, he ran a tough race but with the loss in Indiana he saw the handwriting on the wall and did the honorable thing.

As for the pundits...many of them will have to bust their assess for me to ever trust them and their opinions again. It is not thier support for Cruz vs Trump, it is for everything.

For some it was their defense of the GOPe and their backstabbing us after we gave them control of Congress. For others it was their blind obsession, Cruz conceded today, but mathematically eliminated a while ago and many of those pundits gave voice to the #NeverTrump campaign. In my opinion #NeverTrump was a denial of reality and a pro Hillary stance "If my guy can't win, I'll burn the house down while I am sitting in it. "

But with Cruz doing the honorable thing, in regards to him and his supporters I say "Good race, and let bygones be bygones. "

To the professional punditry "You have to earn my trust still"

I just took the time to watch Ted Cruz's speech tonight 5/3, and, though it was a little too long, I have to say that it was a very good speech, albeit that he wrapped it up by announcing the suspension of his campaign.

Hit hit a lot of the right emphasis points, spoke in broad terms about Liberty and creeping Socialism, etc., and positioned himself hopefully for the future.

Good luck, Ted.

It'll be interesting to see how things end up evolving going into the convention with respect to his role.

Vote Trump
