After New York, Ted Cruz plots his strategy for victory over Donald Trump
Blasting News ^ | April 21, 2016 | Mark R. Whittington

After getting a thorough shellacking in New York, Ted Cruz faces an almost equally bleak battlespace in the upcoming primaries in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Delaware. Cruz’s strategy seems to be to concede the latter three states to Donald Trump and fight it out in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The former state elects mainly unpledged delegates, so Cruz will use his organizational wizardry to woo most of them to his corner. In Maryland, the senator from Texas will try to get some delegates on the congressional district level.

He needs to hang it up. It cannot be argued that he is a national candidate.

It’s time Cruz to unite the party, for the good of the country.

Beating a dead horse is going to elect Hitlery.

I can’t stop Ted from doing what he’s now doing after New York which makes it impossible to get 1237 pre-convention delegates, but I can call a spade a spade.

“Victory Strategy” is the equivalent of calling Abortion “Planned Parenthood”.

His strategy now is one nothing more than a “Denial Strategy” to keep a more popular candidate from getting what more voters want than any other Republican Candidate.

It’s just that simple.

Trump’s huge win in NY, 7.4 percentage points over his Real Clear Politics average, will push Trump’s numbers over the 50 percent mark in all 5 states next week. Cruz may very well come in dead last in all of them.

Cruz may try to pick off some of the unbound delegates in PA, but how many of them will want to vote for someone who will by then have lost 6 primaries in a row, and be about 400 delegates behind, and more than 2 MILLION votes behind? Most people want to go with the winner, not with the loser.

Ted is going to show us what a masterful politician he is, wheeling and dealing in the smokey back rooms to pull out his “victory.” And imagine his surprise when it all comes crashing down around his ears when the people turn on him in the general election.

Ted, you will make it very, very hard to choke down another chit sammich. I will do it, because Hillary is that bad, but I won’t like it and you will not have my respect.

Cruz is cherry-picking candidates while Trump is funding huge rallies to talk to voters, in all corners of the country. There were pictures from one of the rallies yesterday where supporters lined the streets the motorcade passed!

"Cruz needs to hang it up", for sure. He's surrounded himself with folks who are adding to his delusion. Perhaps normal folks getting the message to delegates and Republican candidates who need to listen to voters will put an end to Cruz and insider elite madness. It does seem that Cruz is way to delusional to recognize that what he's doing could tear the nation apart.

The only thing Cruz is plotting is the destruction of the natural born clause.

Under the current primary election system, Cruz is mathematically incapable of getting to the 1237 delegate count.

The only hope he has is back room, underhanded delegate acquisition.

Excellent point. He's been rejected....but the whackjob cannot seem to accept it.

Donald was right...Cruz is seriously deranged.

FREEPER BEAUTIFUL GRACIIOUS SKIES POSTED: "Cruz has made a mockery of ethical conservative behavior---rigging election outcomes, scheming to poach delegates....and now conniving to rig the convention rules in his favor. At the same time he's posing as a Christian. Cruz's blind ambition has made him oblivious to the fact that America is watching. His scheming is not going to be met with acceptance.....there are likely quite a few Christians who wished they never sent Cruz a nickel or gave him their vote."

So even if they don't like Trump, the Republican Party would be stupid to throw in with whackjob Cruz and his shady shenanigans. They're not in good standing now w/ the electorate, but the GOP would be forever tarnished by associating w/ lowlife Cruz in full view of American voters.

Ted Cruz plots his strategy for victory over Donald Trump

Along similar lines, when I was eight years old, I plotted out my own strategy for becoming the Batman.

Cruz should drop out. For all who say, but Lincoln won on the third convention ballot - I point out that the country ended up in a civil war with 680,000 dead and lingering regional and racial hatreds. Slavery could have been ended without a war, possibly.

Trump and Trump supporters have fallen short because they have used the WRONG tactic and continue to use it. They say...

Cruz is toast, done, finished
he is a liar
he is just a spoiler
he should get out
no one likes him
he does not qualify
he is not a real conservative

What Trump and his supporters should have been doing and should start doing is focussing on what makes Trump the better candidate.

Cruz has been targeted for two reasons: One, he is the STRONGEST contender against Trump. Period. Admit it. Don’t deny it. It makes your candidate look foolish when you say he is a fighter and his opponent hits like a girl, and then his opponent gets in a few good hits.

Two, Cruz has been well-supported by CONSERVATIVES. We got him elected. He voted conservatively. He did what he said he was going to do. And the LEFT hates him for this. Many of his detractors here are probably trolls and plants. Many are sincere but sincerely misled by the media and political memes that should have never been used in this primary.

Little attack has been made against Kasich. But he is more of a spoiler than Cruz. He was a spoiler for Trump AND Cruz.
