I have heard Trump say that very thing. He acknowledged that it wasn't a conservative position but said that we have to "take care of everybody" and that the "government would have to pay for those who can't afford to pay". How do you cover all people (cause we don't want to be seen as not having a heart) without the government involvement (in something they should not be involved in)?
Call it what you want, but to cover "everyone" is to have socialized medicine in some form or fashion. All the spin in the world on this forum isn't changing it. Opening insurance borders and tort reform still leaves some people uncovered and Trump says he has heart. So which is it?
Sounds like Trump is trying to say he is against Obamacare but really isn't.

Those were Cruz suggestions and he did not add the part about universal healthcare being paid by the government, like Trump did.

this guy is erratic. he could wake up on his second day in office and decide he was in favor of amnesty and gun confiscation. no track record, no explanation of founding principles or political philosophy . . . he probably doesn’t know why he thinks what he thinks.

Hypothetically lets say that reduces insurance rates by 30%. That still does NOT cover "everyone" and Trump says everyone. That still means socialized medicine of some form if you want to cover "everyone". You do not have some form of XXXXcare with the government taking it's cut? You can not social engineer the costs of illness down to nothing!
Lets be real here. When you say "everyone" deserves something that is not from God, government is involved. When you infer something is a "right" and "fair" (when it isn't), you can bet the government is not far behind to set up another branch to make government larger (another leech on taxpayers).

I agree, I have long said to people around me I don’t think there is a single issue that Trump is pushing today that he couldn’t dump tomorrow.
