So Cruz was for amnesty and isn’t now. How do you resolve that in your mind?

And your "branding" plan has absolutely zero chance of happening. Feel free at any time to join the real world.

Stopping illegal immigration only takes two steps, and relatively little extra money.

1. Make e-verify mandatory for all employees. The system already exists, extra funding would be required to adjudicate appeals.

2. Let ICE and CIS do workplace enforcements. Heavy jail terms, fines, and seizures should be levied against businesses that hire illegals. I'm Those agents already work for the government. Let them do their jobs.

Those two things and repealing the illegal executive orders on Dreamers will stop the influx of illegals. It will begin the self removals of those already here. Seizures of property and money of illegals that get caught can pay for some of the costs of the programs.

No need for branding irons and the obvious Eighth Amendment issues.

I’m sorry when I posted that, I was on the phone and didn’t read like I was suppose to before posting...

Yes Cruz is for ‘legalization’ =Amnesty...Trump is for removing illegals, building the wall at the same time, if they want to come back to America, and they meet the requirements and become Citizens, then yes, if not, stay out...

Trumps change of positions are almost all old one’s.

Cruz’ however, are just from this past congressional cycle.

Flip-Flopped on Legal Immigration:

Townhall’s Guy Benson: Cruz has flip-flopped dramatically on a number of his previous immigration views.

In response, Rubio charged that Cruz supported mass legalization of illegal immigrants and proposed huge increases in federal issuance of certain immigration visas and green cards. Cruz shook his head throughout Rubio’s rejoinder, but Rubio was correct on these points. Cruz has flip-flopped dramatically on a number of his previous immigration views. The Texan shot back, it is not accurate, what he just said, that I supported legalization.Sorry, Senator. It’s on tape. (Townhall, Guy Benson, 12/16/15)

Flip-Flopped on H-1B Visas:
In an election year, Cruz said he would suspend the H-1B program.

Cruz said he would suspend the H-1B program for 180 days while he audited the system for abuses, abandoning his prior support for a 500% increase in the high-tech program. (CNN, 11/13/15)

Cruz sharply distanced himself from his long-held plan to increase the number of visas for high-tech workers by 500%.

A month prior, Cruz sharply distanced himself from his long-held plan to increase the number of visas for high-tech workers by 500%. Under fire from conservative talk radio hosts who said he was imperiling American workers, Cruz said he would suspend the program for 180 days until it could be reformed to his liking.(CNN, 12/1/7/15)

In 2013, Senator Cruz offered an amendment that would increase the H-1B Visa program from 65,000 to 325,000.

During the 2013 immigration debate, the Texas senator proposed an amendment to the comprehensive ˜gang of eight Senate bill that he boasted would dramatically increase the annual limit on H-1B skilled guest worker visas”from 65,000 to 325,000”a five-fold expansion. (Bloomberg, 8/20/15)

Flip-Flopped on Birthright Citizenship:
Cruzs birthright citizenship position is the product of a flip-flop that is a couple of years old.

Post-Trump, Cruz has highlighted his opposition to birthright citizenship, itself the product of a flip-flop that is a couple of years old. (Washington Examiner, 11/19/15)

CNN: Despite his grounding in the grass-roots, Cruz has had to quickly react at times to Trump envelope-pushing brand of conservatism, such as when Cruz quickly agreed this summer with Trumps new position to end birthright citizenship, despite previous questions the Texan posed about its constitutionality. (CNN, 12/1/7/15)

Flip-Flopped on Mass Deportation:
In September 2013, Cruz noted that he had not called for deportation.

Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation. (NYT/Texas Tribune, 9/13/13)

Now, over the past few weeks, Cruz has specifically endorsed deportations after months of resisting.

Cruz, who over the past few weeks has specifically endorsed deportations after months of resisting, said in an interview that aired Sunday on State of the Union that the U.S. should catch those who came here illegally under normal law enforcement practices, not through round-ups of the estimated 11 million undocumented people living in the U.S. (CNN, 1/10/16)

In January 2016, Cruz said that like Donald Trump he does absolutely support deportation of all illegal immigrants.

Ted Cruz said during an appearance in Iowa on Monday that theres a difference between him and Donald Trump on immigration. The Texas senator, who is leading the field of Republican presidential candidates in Iowa according to the latest polls, was asked by a man in the state if, like Trump, he believed that all undocumented immigrants should be deported. Cruz replied, ËœAbsolutely yes. And in fact, look, theres a difference, said Cruz. Hes advocated allowing folks to come back in and become citizens. I oppose that. (BuzzFeed, 1/5/16)

"Yep "poison pill" my ass. Cruz was for 'legalization'" - amnesty."

Well if you consider legal status as amnesty ( I do), then yes Cruz was fighting for amnesty.

Once you accept the fact the courts would never allow second class status for those legalized -it's certain Cruz is aware of this- legalization vs amnesty is moot.

“And your “branding” plan has absolutely zero chance of happening.”

Six months ago, Trump running for prez as a Pubby looked equally impossible. One of the reasons the Stupid Party always loses is that they never ask for enough.

Winfield Scott branded the San Patricios as an act of mercy. We should brand illegal aliens as an act of kindness to our grandchildren.

“Make e-verify mandatory for all employees.”

What man hath wrought, man can hack.

All that would do is spawn a new business for organized crime and promote increased corruption among the bureaucrats.

The reason Cruz is in question is they say He was grooming for the Job all his life and was putting Christianity name along with his, and Trumph was not grooming for it and not touting Christianity. BIG BIG DIFFERENCE in my way of thinking.

This is not hard to figure out.

Cruz supported legalization in the past. He can support and/or change any position he wishes.

The problem is that he calls anyone who brings it up a liar and so do his supporters, because they believe him.

Cruz will be lucky now to finish 2nd in Iowa and will not win a 1st place finish in any state thereafter...including Texas.

Yeah, I know the polls now show him with a slight lead there, but a LOT of things will change in the next month as people understand they have to pick a winner.

" It appears he supported legalizing some of the illegals as long as they could never get citizenship."

He once held the position of legalizing ALL non-criminal illegals.

And, I'm not opposed to a politician changing their position as they learn more about their electorate.

But I expect them to own it. Cruz has never done that. He continues to deny he ever held that position. Calling people liars who disagree.

that's too much for me to swallow.

"The follow up tweets are a good example of why I believe that Cruz may have a little trouble getting re-elected to the Senate- let alone carry Texas in the nomination for president."

The people of Texas will not reelect him to the Senate because he DEFRAUDED them the first time.

He knew he was a Canadian citizen and did not disclose that important fact.

Yeah, everyone knew he was born in Canada. But nobody knew he was STILL a Canadian citizen when they elected him.

He would not have even won the Texas primary.

Can you imagine the ads against him? "Why is a CANADIAN thinking he even has the right to run for US Senator from the Great State of Texas?"

That election could have been won by any Texan willing to put up 300 billboards with that question on them.

I would first announce the US will have reciprocity laws of the illegals home country.

THAT alone will make the Left’s brain-cell explode.

Trump has no history of recorded speeches and votes in senate or the house. He was never a career politician. What he said or did operating a big business doe not equate to votes and speeches of ELECTED career politicians.

is this supposed to be impressive?

at least Ronald Reagan made up for his years of being a Democrat by spending years advancing Conservative principles. If only Trump had done that then he would be Reagan’s heir instead of a someone who’s credibility is suspect.
