A New York City politician has introduced a bill which allows black people to urinate in public so they can “fulfill their potential.”
Personally, I think this politicians’ expectations of black people are too low. But they did choose to vote her into office, and I have no right to tell them what their goals in life should or shouldn’t be.
The New York Times reports:
New York City is poised to reshape how it treats many so-called quality-of-life offenses, softening its stance toward low-level infractions like public urination…
Under the legislation, New Yorkers given tickets by the police… would in many cases be steered to a civil process rather than criminal court…
âWe know that the system has been really rigged against communities of color in particular,â said Ms. Mark-Viverito, who has promoted such reforms and is the main sponsor of the bills. âSo the question has always been, what can we do in this job to minimize unnecessary interaction with the criminal justice system, so that these young people can really fulfill their potential?â
Health officials, for example, agreed to repeal a section of the departmentâs rules that forbids public urination…
The issue of public urination became a subject of intense public debate last summer…
According to San Francisco’s Public Utilities Commission, a lamp post that toppled over and nearly crushed a driver had been terminally compromised by a most deadly combination: human and dog urine.
KTVU reports that the three-story-tall pole snapped and fell onto an occupied car at around 6:30 p.m. Monday night, (though commenter Shaqapopolis says the event actually occurred Sunday) at the Nob Hill intersection of Pine and Taylor.
Luckily, the driver escaped injury, and was just shaken up by the experience. But why did the structure fall in the first place?
A PUC spokesperson acknowledged that the light was old, but said that it wasn’t just age that felled the massive pole, it was pee. Lots and lots of pee.
âWe believe there was some contribution of dog or human urine on the base of the pole,â PUC spokesman Tyrone Jue told the Chron, saying that pee “accelerates the corrosion of the metal base of street poles.”
âThe base or the bottom of the pole was rusted out and that contributed to the pole falling down,â another PUC spokesperson, Charles Sheehan, told KTVU.

The “people of color” of New York City need to show that they are better than Billy Carter.
In San Francisco they map it on the web...

Even Billy Carter didn’t do this in the city. He might do it on tree trunks on the farm but that’s a legit part of being red neck.
Well, peeproof poles are required today.
New York values?????
Why of COURSE
True(what a sad note on society) but how many older ones are out there waiting to rot away fall on some little old lady?
Talk about lowest common denominator. This is an insult and testifies of a lazy liberal mindset. NO discipline, personal or governmental. Expect more of people not less.
Therefore, instead of prosecuting these poor people for using the front wall, sidewalk or steps of somebody else's home or business as a toilet, we might cite them on "civil" charges or just kinda look the other way.
Bring back Bill Bratton and "quality of life" policing (LINK)
Please. Before the whole city is one big reeking toilet.
So would MLK.
Yep. We will be told it is their RIGHT to fling poo at white people because of slavery and racism.
Mark-Viverito was born in San Juan and grew up in one of the largest cities of the metro area, the city of Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She came to New York at age 18 to attend college
Wrong! Only whites can get that disease!
The incident that made it into the news involved an airport tarmac. Apparently several people including Billy Carter were waiting on the tarmac for a plane and he needed to relieve himself. Not a lot of bushes to hide behind on the tarmac.
There is nothing worse one human can say to another than “I have no expectations of you.”
This polidiots has no expectation that blacks can urinate in a civilized manner.
“âI could get Uromysitisis poisoning and die...Do you think I enjoy living like this?...the shame, the humiliation...You know I have been issued a public urination pass by the city because of my condition.â”
I see what you did there. Problem is it happened in Jersey.
To not allow them to defecate in the streets, on the sidewalks and in your offices is racist.
When the Zombie Apocalypse comes (and it will), I’m rooting for the Zombies for at least a week or so....
And promptly went batS—t crazy ...
