Oh boy. Thanks to those among us that have a peanut allergy, everyone else has to have a crappy Halloween. That’s what it means to be a sensitive, “responsible” American these days.

Here’s the sign asking parents to only hand out carrot sticks, raisins and other boring treats:

My grandmother used to give out warm cider and donuts. The kids loved it.

Liberals are miserable people and want to suck the fun out of everyone else’s lives, too.

Every year there is always some party-pooper out there.

Our neighborhood has kids on trailers and hay wagons riding around.

They faint if they knew Trick-or-Drinking was a big thing in England. Candy for the kids, booze for the adults. I can honestly say I’ve never been more wasted in my life!

OMG That reminds me as a kid Trick or Treating with my cousins. We would run to the homes that handed out money. Leaving the rest of the cousins behind LOL. I think in that one night we earned 1 buck LOL.

All the ones that came to my door were polite little kids with mommy and daddy chaperoning. All good in the ‘hood.

when I was a kid, it was chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate...and the houses that gave out full size chocolate candy bars were talked about, believe me.

next to chocolate, I loved candy cigarettes for some reason, Sugar daddies, candy lipstick, and these little tiny soda bottles made of plastic so when you chewed the top off, there was a little bit of juice in there.....yee haw!

I live on a private street and there’s no trick or treating. Nobody does it. We have few kids in our complex and they make their own arrangements. I donate bags of candy for the church Harvest Party which is always the Friday before the 31st. I buy the candy at Rite Aid which has a great variety of candy, two for five dollars. Come to think of it, I didn’t see any Halloween candy with peanuts there, no Pay Pal bars. I didn’t buy any bags of candy with peanuts probably because the store didn’t have them out.

On a cold Halloween, a buddy of mine would offer shots of whiskey to the parents....

Not acceptable unless you are a rabbit family.

I’m sure Peter Rabbit and his sisters would love to trick or treat for carrot sticks.

Alas, I’m a human, give me candy!

But as samples they do come at discounted pricing. I usually spend between $50 & $75. It’s something we enjoy doing.

One year when my husband was a kid and out trick-or-treating with his friends and siblings, my father-in-law was left at home to hand out candy. At that time they lived in a subdivision that was filled with kids, and it didn’t take too long for the candy to run out.

After it did, FIL started going through the kitchen cabinets and pulling out cans of Beanie Weenies. When those were gone, he started throwing money into the kids’ bags. Finally he just said, “The hell with this” and turned off the porch light.

Wonder how they would feel about us giving out candy to the kids and an adult beverage to the chaperones. The adults should get a little treat too. :-)
