Washington was a businessman. His trade was originally with English merchants.

The traders he dealt with ripped him off, misrepresenting his products to companies in England and short-changing him on purchases from English vendors.

He turned his business inwards to sell to the American colonies rather than dealing with British merchants.

This was the origin of his whiskey business at Mount Vernon.

I believe Washington would understand Trump very quickly, cultural differences aside (a lot has changed relating to manners and social behavior since then).

I don’t understand the Carson following either. He seems like a decent guy but definitely not presidential material. I also don’t understand the Trump haters. If it wasn’t for him this primary season would be going much differently. The guy with the most money would be in the lead. Thank God for Donald Trump!

Washington would have mixed emotions;

Trump is not a professional politician or one of that class, he is an educated, successful, and well known citizen; he has not shown any prior philosophical leanings but he has shown managerial skill; he does not appear to seek fiscal or social gains from office but his manner could suggest a regal attitude that GW would abhor.

Like it or not, Trump isn't radically different from anyone else Washington may have considered.

The current administration ignores the Constitution. If they wanted to take all the guns. They would. They would kill those who don’t want to give them up. They don’t have to worry about the people in the cities because the people in the cities can easily be starved into submission. The people in the country can be taken out one farm at a time. Not hard to deport 25 million illegals? Not hard to get the weapons from 25 million farms.

Would Trump have put his fortune and life on the line to sign the Declaration?

I’m fairly certain that were any of the Founding Fathers (federalist or non-federalist) to encounter any current federal politicians, they would probably demand a duel to the death!
