Trump also promised to cut spending and waste in government, a promise met with skepticism from both hosts. Yet it has been pointed out that just eliminating zero-based budgeting alone, which automatically increases government spending by 6 percent a year, would stop the growth of government spending and the debt trajectory.

Trump implied that there would be cuts in whole departments and business efficiencies brought to procurement and spending. As he put it in previous interviews, “It’s called management.”

It was clear Trump had the American economy on his mind, first and foremost. He was detailed and less bombastic as he asserted that business and economic growth are what his wheelhouse is and what needs to be emphasized to change the trajectory of the economy and government spending.

He repeatedly defended his tax policies with specifics, and when pushed on his commitment to the presidential race made the point that he was winning in the polls and connecting with the voters. When pressed on whether he would leave the race if his numbers dropped, Trump was nonplussed, replying that he was not a “masochist” and if his poll numbers tanked it would be because he was no longer connecting with the American people.

Eliminate entire agencies. Don’t just “cut.”

A lot of people around here don’t think Trump is a conservative. But I think that Trump means what he says. two thirds of a conservative agenda that is actually accomplished is better than 0% of an agenda by a candidate that loses.

That is what he said he would do. This will be the first time no one will be able to say to the President, “We contributed to your campaign, you can’t cut off our gravy train!”

Trump’s campaign will be studied in political science classes for the next 50 years.

“two thirds of a conservative agenda that is actually accomplished is better than 0% of an agenda by a candidate that loses.”

To go further, anything conservative accomplished is better than 0% of an agenda of a candidate that wins, but was lying the whole time about wanting to accomplish anything conservative.

Yes. If they aren’t already. It’s the unpredictable comments and actions that keep them off guard.

he’s definitely a fiscal conservative- most who run/own their own businesses are...1) is he a social conservative 2) what are his details for national security??

with the help of obama stenographers in the media the POS presently occupying the WH was able to change the conversation on social issues and win on that alone- he’s been a disaster on the economy and foreign policy...

good points and I agree. Trump cant really be classified but I think his heart is with the American people.

The decent people(non registered Democrats)of this country have been lied to and have had their futures stolen by the political class.

So many are now putting their trust in a man of many hats...which slows how low the elites rank!

LOL...your right...I wonder how anyone else is going to be able to fund their own campaigns like Trump is doing?

And I wonder how history is going to treat the subject of way back when Trump became President, he ran on his own money and didn’t earn anything from the Government?

He He He, don’t ya just love Trump!!!

I think most of them are on the side lines looking on--with mouths agape--thinking they are in the middle of a close encounter of the Trump kind.

Walls of library books will be thrown in the trash when this is all over.

maybe so but I still want Trump to fall and Cruz to take his endorsement and run with it.
Obviously the media is pushing Trump on our side because that’s the only guy they carry with a little Ben and Fiorins added in. It’s sickening.
Cruz blows them all away. He is by far the smartest and most qualified and closest to my values and beliefs.

“A lot of people around here don’t think Trump is a conservative.”

I would like for them to point out the non-conservative stands he is pushing.

“Obviously the media is pushing Trump on our side...”

Can you identify the media that is pushing Trump? This is going to be interesting.
