MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Tells Bill Maher: We “Nailed” Trump

Could this be the end of the Summer of Trump? Both MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and HBO’s Bill Maher wouldn’t be surprised. “We nailed him,” Matthews said last night on Real Time With Bill Maher, crowing about MSNBC’s playing – and replaying – Donald Trump’s non-response response to a supporter’s ludicrous birther assertions and Islamophobic aspersions.
During Real Time‘s mostly-Trump discussion Friday, Maher recalled how just days before he’d teased Hardball host Matthews about MSNBC’s Trump obsession, “and you said that’s because you want to be there when it all implodes.” Maher wondered whether Trump’s seeming acquiescence to a bigoted questioner during a New Hampshire rally Thursday signaled the presidential hopeful’s “peak.”
“We caught him,” Matthews responded, explaining that he and his MSNBC crew were “trying to figure out whether to stick with” Trump’s New Hampshire speech, which had been proceeding without much incident. When Trump announced he’d be taking audience questions, Matthews said, “I said stay with it because we don’t know what’s going to happen. And then he comes back with that birther thing, the President is not an American, the whole routine. I said we’re going to go with this.”
Trump had just started taking questions at the campaign rally when an audience member said, “We have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims. We know our current president is one — you know he’s not even an American. But anyway, we have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question, when can we get rid of them?”
Trump’s weak response: “We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things, a lot of people are saying bad things are happening, we’re going to be looking at .....

At least since Bill Clinton campaigned against Bush Sr. the Dems haven’t held anything resembling open town halls.
I recall when Clinton came to town in the early 90s the area Democrat party was encouraging the public to come to the ‘town meeting’ to ask questions, etc. etc.
After I made some calls I found out that the whole (small) venue was already filled with local party hacks, and that the organizers had “selected” the pertinent questions in advance.
One by one the questioners stood up and read their little recipe cards: “How does Gov. Clinton plan to address the harm done to the rural economy by George Bush...?”...yada yada..
As if Hillary would ever let the public sling rape questions or Pedo Isle questions or Humaweiner texting questions at her.
Ed Klein told Hannity:
“The Rev. Wright told me on tape Obama came to him and said, ‘I need some spiritual advice; I don’t know exactly who I am.’ The Rev. Wright said — and this is on tape — ‘Well, we know your Islam background and you have that, but what you need now is some coaching on Christianity.’
“And I asked the Rev. Wright, did you convert him from being a Muslim to a Christian?
“He said, ‘Well I don’t know if I could go that far but I can tell that I made it comfortable for him to accept Christianity without having to renounce his Islamic background.’”
May it be obseved the Rev. Wright was, himself, a former muslim.
From the first time I saw/heard the question I thought the guy may have been a DNC plant. These two - I’ll self-edit here - jerks just strengthened that thought. Why doesn’t someone in Trump’s staff review where the questioner came from and what his motives were. (The fact that I agree with both the plant and Trump in this regard is irrelevant.)
Trump didn’t taken the plants bait he answered him and moved on so one could say he didn’t answer.
The stooges got taken not Trump.
Has the audience member who made the statement been identified yet? The media seems to have no interest in that whatsoever.

So they imagine an incident like this will tip the scales. Trump supporters are supposed to watch that exchange and realize they:
Are pro wide open borders; don’t want a wall after all
Embrace the foreign invasion
Realize sovereignty is overrated
Love the Permanent Political Class
Want more of the same; all talk no action
Want to do their little part to see that the GOPe steals another primary/loses another general

Sorry to disappoint you Chris, but his not defending Obama is tipping my vote towards him. I’m sure I am not alone. You’re the clown Chris. I can’t wait until the pee warms your leg, instead of that tingle you had, when Trump takes the White House. I would ask you to make a pledge to vow to leave the country when he does move into the White House, but I know vows mean nothing to you liberals.
Question and answer sessions during Town Hall meetings I would NEVER recommend because you never know what kind of liberal plant is going to show up and ask a question to get his 15 minutes of fame. Notice the media hasn’t tried to find this person..because they probably already know who he is and he has some connection to the Democrat Party..someone needs to find out who this guy is, do some research I know it can be done

Hillary listened to a speech filled with a diatribe against Jews. Then Hillary said nothing and hugged Suha Arafat.
Trump didn’t hug anyone.
