MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Tells Bill Maher: We “Nailed” Trump

Could this be the end of the Summer of Trump? Both MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and HBO’s Bill Maher wouldn’t be surprised. “We nailed him,” Matthews said last night on Real Time With Bill Maher, crowing about MSNBC’s playing – and replaying – Donald Trump’s non-response response to a supporter’s ludicrous birther assertions and Islamophobic aspersions.
During Real Time‘s mostly-Trump discussion Friday, Maher recalled how just days before he’d teased Hardball host Matthews about MSNBC’s Trump obsession, “and you said that’s because you want to be there when it all implodes.” Maher wondered whether Trump’s seeming acquiescence to a bigoted questioner during a New Hampshire rally Thursday signaled the presidential hopeful’s “peak.”
“We caught him,” Matthews responded, explaining that he and his MSNBC crew were “trying to figure out whether to stick with” Trump’s New Hampshire speech, which had been proceeding without much incident. When Trump announced he’d be taking audience questions, Matthews said, “I said stay with it because we don’t know what’s going to happen. And then he comes back with that birther thing, the President is not an American, the whole routine. I said we’re going to go with this.”
Trump had just started taking questions at the campaign rally when an audience member said, “We have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims. We know our current president is one — you know he’s not even an American. But anyway, we have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question, when can we get rid of them?”
Trump’s weak response: “We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things, a lot of people are saying bad things are happening, we’re going to be looking at .....

This is as clear an admission as one could get that MSNBC is an arm of the DNC. In short, they see their job as “nailing” challenges to Clinton.

There is no such thing. If you are a rational person, you fear Islam for reasons based on history and their own statements. If you do not have a healthy fear of Islam, then you are stupid.
They nailed her too?
They think they “got” him. They just reminded everyone that they aren’t alone in thinking Obama is a fraud.
This is what keeps happening with Trump. They keep thinking they “got” him, and he keeps getting stronger. Because he keeps saying (or in this case not denying) what everyone is already thinking. In attacking Trump, they communicate to the vast unwashed masses that they are not alone in thinking what they think.
They assume they have an audience.

CNN isn’t an arm of the DNC. It is the propaganda arm of the Progressive movement that includes both parties.
Trump’s response should have been “Obama may be a lot of things, but calling him a muslim is slanderous. There is no way the President would embrace that devilish cult.” Imagine the reaction to that.

“We” did it only if we put a plant there to ask the question and to make it a two pronged question so the first part would be passed over in order to get to the second point, which is of course that there are terrorist training camps in the US.
By the way, I have passed by the one in Red House, VA many times.

He was a liberal plant..I wish a Conservative plant would go to one of the Dems townhalls and ask them when they will allow blacks to kill all the white folk and see what they say
How does Chrissy think he nailed Trump? How many devotees of the Chrissy Tingles show does anybody believe would vote for Trump anyway? None. All of the people calling for Trump to apologize would never ever vote for him even if he did. He knows this.
