What is Our Alternative to Government Solutions?
Vanity ^ | 8/3/15 | jim 0216

The ONLY real, valid alternative in life is freedom. Freedom is at the heart of most issues these days even if many don’t realize it. Your run-of-the-mill politician and most candidates for 2016 election see no political future in freedom. Of course that makes sense since political freedom is the absence of government and government coercion.

Individual freedom or liberty is tremendously valuable and easily lost and is being drowned out by the deafening drum beats and bull horns of the Leftist MSM, government schools, government press corps, and politicians grasping for fame, fortune (your money) and power (at the expense of your freedom). The illusion of government-provided security and "equality" seems now to many if not most to be worth the price of individual freedom.

There are very few times in the history of man that a society has lived free for any length of time. Almost all of the history of man is a story of misery and oppression under tyranny. America for about 125 years or so until around 1900 is one such rare example of a free society. What we are seeing now is the throes of individual freedom being smothered by the relentless march of oppression and tyranny behind the temporary veneer of "care", "compassion”, and "equality."

If freedom loses, we lose. Have we lost? Is freedom over as an individual value and societal treasure? Maybe not. I have hope that the same God that miraculously and against all odds gave birth to this wonderful country may cause a new birth of freedom to surge in America and from thence around the world one more time.

Apparently freedom is not as easily understood as one might think. Freedom has no press corps, no loudspeakers. While government solutions blast loudly, freedom whispers. Freedom is delicate, but it takes courage and bravery to defend her. Freedom must reign in the heart or not at all. Many seem to have lost either their love for freedom or their understanding of freedom or both.

What is individual freedom, or liberty, and what will it take to recover her as the principal value in America? Well, I see three main areas of freedom and they are interconnected: economic freedom, political freedom and spiritual freedom.

Economic freedom is the voluntary cooperation of the market economy free from government coercion or interference. The free market is freedom in action and is the only source of true wealth as it was for America in the 1800's. Command and control government economic solutions are, as Hayek put it, the road to serfdom. Most of the economy is hampered by the interference of the $4 trillion federal government. Economic vibrancy and freedom requires this to be drastically reversed.

Political freedom is the rule of law. In the American context, political freedom is maintaining the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land. The federal beast with two heads has gradually grown over the last 125 years into an unimaginable gargantuan $4 trillion problem by feasting on and devouring the Constitution. One head represents the sheer size of this monster. Cutting it down to constitutional size would mean dissolving most cabinet posts with their bloated bureaucratic departments and dissolving the "Administrative State" of these hideous regulatory agencies. The other head represents 125 years of unconstitutional SCOTUS decisions giving the beast its apparent power and authority which would have to be repealed and/or nullified. Both heads must be destroyed to kill the beast.

Spiritual freedom is the most important because faith was the engine that powered the birth of America and the Constitution. Faith and knowledge. Without faith in God, America would never have happened. America was born in an era of world-wide faith in God. Independence from government and individual freedom were highly valued because generally people were spiritually free in their knowledge of Jesus Christ. They trusted in God who prospered them. They did not trust in man or government knowing that “the help of man is vain” (PS 68:11, 108:12) and that government was a trap. That era ended around 1900. Since then people have gradually decided they don’t need God, but instead have learned to depend on man and government. Those without faith don’t really get freedom and are inclined to depend on man and government for their needs. We see the results everywhere and the words of scripture ring truer than ever: “Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the Lord” (Jer 17:5). Without individual, spiritual freedom, it is impossible to maintain political or economic freedom because people have little understanding or desire for it (until they experience the pain of tyranny but by then, it is too late).

What now? Well, there is evidence that God may have yet another miracle for America and the world. A new breath of grace and faith is surging across our land and around the world. I believe this is the latter rain in the latter house, the church, spoken of by Joel and Haggai, which could bring a resurgence of faith in America and around the world before Jesus returns to take his people and the end comes crashing down. Scripture hints at a last burst of faith and ingathering before the end comes (Matt 22:2-10). I believe there is a grace revolution underway in and through the church and this gospel revolution will turn many to faith in God and very possibly a return to a love of individual freedom and rejection of government as a solution.

Human nature always screws freedom up. It is a good time to be old. We have enjoyed the easiest existence ever enjoyed by the human animal but our tendency toward socialism always seems to win after “too much” comfort. Bring on Cloward/Priven. The left embraced that strategy to bring on socialism. We conservatives ought to embrace it now because we are better armed and it is our only hope to retain true freedom.

Crony capitalism should be among the first items to be attacked if conservatives ever win. Competition is an economic necessity. This includes the regulatory tsunami against business. There are some regulatory necessities but they should promote competition and regulate very basic ecological and health concerns. The basic ecological requirement should be “clean up after yourselves” and nothing more.

Meant to add...

The battle for political freedom, which is where we spend the most time here, must be fought at all levels. Offensive, what I call “top-down” direct attacks on the feds must be waged by electing strong candidates (I have not problem with Trump) and efforts like the COS proposed by CSG.

Defensive, what I call “bottoms-up” measures, also necessary by sates “circling the wagons” and simply protecting their citizens from federal tyranny by rejecting and nullifying unconstitutional federal acts.

Full-court press. All-out attack on every front. “Trust in God and keep your powder dry.”

Personal screeds to blow off steam are great for reducing blood pressure. But hope and changy wishful thinking won’t move the ball. If you want to wake up the fat drunk and stupid sheeple, they need to understand we’ve been re-enslaved. If you actually are going to work it, start with blacks. Once they understand that white libs have literally enslaved them, the communist democrat party will die.

Ok you say A** hole how?
First talk to blacks and ask why or if they support the unions that fail to educate their kids(especially males) to be productive adults causing 25% to be in jail, on probation or under arrested. Ask why aren’t blacks over represented in STEM occupations since the link between musical ability and math is undeniable.

Then ask why they hate their kids since most will be pro min wage increases which will forever relegate them to poverty.

When allowed minority parents will get their kids out of the union school, prison, poverty track. Ask why you vote for those that want your kids dead or in jail(ie the democrat commie party)

The fastest fix for the removal of the progressive plague that Ted Roosevelt foisted on us is the repeal of the 17th amendment.

The only way we can go back to what we had, is to completely rid ourselves of 3/4 of all these ALPHABET GOVERNMENT AGENCIES that seem to thing they are above the law. The CONSTITUTION doesn’t mean anything to them. Because our politicians have allowed them to make their “RULES” that all of a sudden become “LAW”. Let’s see, how many laws have the congress and the senate created in the last 7 years? Then compare the hundreds of thousands of “RULES” that all of a sudden become “LAWS” created by these ALPHABET GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. We have to begin to tell these unelected officials that they can’t just make a law just because they feel like it.

The alternative to government solutions is for private businesses in the free market competing to provide the best solutions.

Funny how accountability combined with competition and private property created this great civilization. Government has neither accountability nor competition and the corrupt government idiots are working with someone else’s money.

In capitalism you work with your own money so you are very careful with it so then you have efficiency combined with competition and competition and the profit motive all and others summed up with each other and that's why the free market and private business works but government/socialism can never work as it is always corrupt, unaccountable brute force power which is evil.

The most appropriate action to most all government solutions is to do nothing instead. Government solutions to most all problems result in the problem not being solved but most always made worse.

The problem is that Freepers do not rule the world (yet?)!

Our nation has given people the freedom, the luxury, to be stupid. In the USA, you can be stupid and never pay the price. Your freedom is protected because we are so relatively prosperous and can support people in the manner to which they desire to be accustomed.

I know people who choose to never read any news because it’s “so depressing.” Yet these people vote! They believe they are well-informed because they glance at a few Facebook posts. They are stupid enough to swallow cliches and believe people like journalists and professors.

“The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.” Stupid people cannot be vigilant, they cannot discern and apply logic. They react based on raw childish emotion, which is easily manipulated by demagogues.

There have always been stupid people, but now with immigration, broken families, and the school systems, they have obtained critical mass.

The Constitution SHARPLY limits what Congress and the Feds can do. And the Tenth Amendment says all powers they were NOT specifically given to them belong specifically to the States, or to us.

Just because they can cobble together a majority vote in Congress does NOT give them new powers. So where the hell do they get off banning light bulbs, or requiring us to wear seat belts, or minimum wage, or any gun law whatsoever, or an endless list of other abuses?

The first three words of the Constitution are We The People. It is up to us to bring them to heel. Start with your State but keep your powder dry. We may have to do this the hard way.

Yes. The way I see it is individual by individual and state by state.

At least ONE state (Texas? Arizona?) needs to decide “ENOUGH!” and start rejecting and nullifying unconstitutional federal acts which by definition are acts of tyranny. That needs to happen IMO - true grass-roots, “bottoms-up” rebellion against an outlaw government. Many say, “Oh, your breaking the law” by doing that. No, the feds are breaking the law by nullifying the Constitution. We, therefore, are nullifying the feds. I see it as basically the state circling the wagons in a defense move to protect their citizens from tyranny. I’d probably move to that state.

In the meantime, let’s have at it from the top-down by directly attacking the feds with good candidates like Trump or Cruz and the COS proposed by the CSG. Repeal the 17th Amendment. Great. Get people in there who don’t give a sh*t about politics who will nuke huge unconstitutional portions of the feds. Get SCOTUS Justices who will repeal 125 years of unconstitutional decisions. These are all offensive moves and difficult, but also necessary IMO.

Put the squeeze on ‘em baby. How I’d love to see that.
