Seattle Residents Rise Up Against Trash Police

t's been said one man's trash is another man's treasure, but in Seattle, everyone's trash is the business of government. Not that it should be that way. But that's the law in Seattle: Food scraps have to be separated from other garbage and recycling material, and compostable paper cannot be conveniently tossed out with the rest of trash.

We've mentioned before here , here and here how asinine and borderline tyrannical this law is. But while we've merely made comment, some folks have taken action. They're suing the city for invasion of privacy.

What is their definition of "food waste"?

I for one am not going to eat the spoiled food in my fridge.

That's why it's called "garbage".

And I pay through the nose to have my "garbage" taken away.

That's the deal.

And for the record, I do recycle. Recylables that is.

All the trash ends up in a garbage dump.

Rush Limbaugh correctly made the same point a few years ago. He's right and I care not a whit about separating my garbage into the trash container versus the recycling bin. It just goes into which is closest. Similarly, I water my lawn when I chose to. During the drought here, the fascists tried to enforce once-a-week watering. Since I do it late at night, they had no clue that I was watering my lush, green lawn frequently.

God commands us to "fill the earth and subdue it". For my part, I'll obey the Lord and couldn't care less what some goose-stepping bureaucrat tells me to do. The planet doesn't have many more years left before Christ's return so I'll subdue it as I see fit. Let freedom ring!

Good point. All the people hollering about wasting resources are the same types who scream about wasting water. Yet how many millions of gallons of water are used every day by people washing their recyclables?

And how much fuel is used and exhaust pumped into the atmosphere by the vehicles going around picking up the recyclables?

The “more conservative Reagan-era kids” won’t ever be in power; there aren’t enough of them. What the left is watching is the Third World replacement Americans and the permanently unassimilated underclass take power, and they care nothing for the environment (or this country). The coalition they cobbled together to elect Obama twice (especially after the disastrous first term) shows just how marginalized/irrelevant any conservative middle class population is.

The Supreme Court referred to that with the ObamaCare ruling; it was fundamentally changing the relationship between the government and its people (by forcing them to buy insurance or pay fines).
