The Hillary Clinton State Department Emails, Explained

Can you tell me about these Hillary Clinton emails everyone is talking about on Twitter? Sure, what would you like to know?

Everything. Ok, well, the State Department has just released about 3,000 pages of emails Hillary Clinton sent while serving as secretary of state. Most of them are from 2009. This is the first of several batches of emails the State Department is planning to release over the next year.

Government transparency is a good thing, right? It is. However, it’s worth noting that these emails were personally selected by Hillary Clinton for release prior to having her private email server wiped clean. So if we don’t find a “smoking gun” in any of the emails, that just means that Hillary Clinton is competent enough to not knowingly release politically damaging and/or incriminating material.

Shouldn’t an independent third party look into to whether she’s not hiding anything? Yes, even Vox.com thinks this is a reasonable course of action.

Would Hillary agree to do that? Probably not.

She's hiding plenty.....however, even one email to/from the smirking Sid Blumenthal should sound numertous L/E alarms.

FOR STARTERS---THERE'S CONSPIRACY AND COLLUSION TO DECEIVE: In 2009, the Clintons duped the public, the Foundation's Board of Directors, and its wealthy donors by announcing Sidney Blumenthal, a long-time adviser to both Clintons, had been hired...... (wait for it) "to work at the Clinton Foundation on a project to promote Bill Clinton’s presidential legacy. "

But Sid's secret emails show that, while on the foundation payroll, ostensibly "promoting Bill's legacy," Blumenthal fed back-channel, usually unreliable, intelligence reports on Libya to then-Secy of State Clinton.

Hillary sent Sid's reports on to senior State official without attribution......as if they were her analyses.
