This isn’t a project, it’s an experiment, and there are laws concerning experimentation on human beings. One wonders if these parents would consent to the implantation of electrodes in their son’s brain to see if it would turn him into a more “enlightened” adult. I have a dark suspicion the answer is yes.

I worked with a man that was working on his doctorate in psychology.
He and wife were expecting their first child.
Their plan was to raise the baby, at least for a while devoid of human interaction. Feeding remotely, etc.
Didn’t keep up with him and the experiment so I don’t know whether they actually did it and if so what the outcome was.
It happens more than you would think!
A family at my son’s school (not public) is raising their two daughters as boys. They refuse to call them girls or let others call them girls. The girls are in the seventh and fifth grades.
The school photographer told a story that they both came to her before class pictures and requested the “boy pose”; that their parents would refuse the pictures if they were in a girl pose.
At school dances, they come dressed in shirts and ties.
On overnight/weeklong school trips, they will not let the older one go because she is not allowed to room with boys.
The father went ballistic when the school refused to allow the older daughter to do an Athletic Field Day of measured track and field events because she couldn’t be measured against “other boys”.
Not even the gay Head of Middle School would go along with the gender bending!

Let me guess - they already had a son, and decided that "another boy simply would not do." And they planned to send him to a "sleepaway camp" for the summer.
When Dan grows up, there will be hell to pay and I for one will not shed a tear for the parents.
Parents who treat their children as pets or pet projects .... there are no words. Nothing can be too bad for such parents.

FWIW. There have been attempts to raise children “sexlessly” before, as on certain kibbutzes in Israel (obviously not traditional Jewish though).
It was in vain. The girls kept liking dolls and the boys kept liking toy trucks.
It’s more likely than not that this fellow will, in fact, still be a normal fellow with a strange story to tell. (”Oh, did I ever tell you about the two years when my crazy parents treated me like a girl? Hated every minute of it.”)
The worst burdens are those that arise from within souls, not from outside of them.
Tomboys often end up being quite normal ladies when it’s all said and done.
There were several serial killers who were forced by their mothers to dress in womens’ clothing while they were children. Can’t say for sure if that contributed to their malfunctions, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
