I don't see my family urging "calm" should the police shoot me for some reason. Why is that?

He had a gun. Feds will rule all cops won’t be able to fire on a suspect even if they have a gun. ROE for cops coming to your town soon./s?

Cops don’t like it when you point a gun at them. Imagine that.

picked up a handgun and then drove it into the chest of the officer but didn’t fire.
I find this unbelievable!
Have the two cops been tested for drugs and steroids yet??

Street thugs are not known for maintaining weapons or even knowing how to hold one, let alone USE one.
Semi-auto?
Maybe the weapon wasn't charged.
Didn't have a round in the chamber?
Had the safety on?

Cops dont like it when you point a gun at them. Imagine that. But according to the story, the suspect was not armed when shot. He dropped the gun at the top of the stairs.
He was able to break free and run down the stairs, but when he got toward the bottom of the steps, he turned back toward the officers. According to Hackney, the officers did not know the gun had been dropped and were in fear for their safety.
If the story is accurate, this guy was unarmed when the shooting occurred.

Like the movie - Top Gun: Don’t fire unless fired upon ... the bad guys always gets the first shot.

But in this case it seems the suspect was not in possession of a gun when he was shot to death.

Only drugs could produce that expression with that awful grin. That can’t be an inherited look.

Would you mind sending me the link to the report which shows the suspect was armed at the time he was shot to death?
Thanks.

The Police didn't know he was unarmed. The guy stopped and was turning. Were they suppose to wait for the bullets to hit them before they could fire back?
Tell us from your vast experience chasing bad guys how you deal with it?

It seems you’re attempting to make me the story or issue here. I had nothing to do with the outcome here.
I only clarified the suspect was unarmed when shot to death, as a poster mistakenly thought differently.
I have no idea what the cops were thinking here. Based on the reports, the only thing which appears clear is the cops shot the suspect to death before seeing a weapon in the suspects hand.
You might not understand, but cops are supposed to be trained to look at a suspects hands for weapons, before shooting.
